I volunteer at a local no-kill cat shelter. I've been doing it since 2007. We are training in some new volunteers this week or I would probably try and leave early.

In his latest mock draft Sam V of the athletic suggested that maybe the Nets and Houston involve the wolves in a garden trade with the Rockets getting #1 and the wolves getting players back from the Nets. That's actually somewhat intriguing. Caris Lavert and his reasonable 3 year contract could offer some appeal.

That's not appealing enough to get a deal done. Also, fuck Houston.

We all have our opinions and we all have who we love. We all hit on players like cam with Tyler Herro and we all miss on players like cam with Nik Stauskas. Whoever the Wolves draft tomorrow I'll keep an open mind and hope the player(s) the Wolves draft help the Wolves take a step forward as an organization.

All eyes north!!!!!

I think there has already been a pre-emptive meltdown by a good portion of us. Now we can just watch the trainwreck we already know will happen without having to go through the 7 stages of grief.

What's everyone drinking tonight? I'll have my glass of warm tap water.

30 years of disappointment. Do we really think tonight's results will change that? Of course we will. We're gluttons for punishment. I'll be having Knob Creek Maple on the rocks.

Nice!

Has a nice smoky sweetness. Only about $30 a bottle. A good value bourbon

That's great. I'm not a big cat person, but it's cool you take the time to help. I'm looking for a way to do more volunteer work and am looking for good ideas. I'm pretty involved with the anti-bullying campaign currently.

That's a good campaign to be involved with.

I want to do more than I have but starting the new job and it still being a pandemic has kept me from looking to do a whole lot more at the moment.

My advice is try some things out. Idk if this apples to you be we have some parents and kids that volunteer together. Maybe you may like doing a few short term things/projects/campaigns/events every year than something that's regular every week or whatever thing.

One thing you may consider is some organizations are always looking for people to be on their board of directors or advisory board. As someone who worked on a grant project with an advisory board for a few years I can say that was incredibly invaluable to have that group of people helping us.

Some people simply like doing a pretty basic thing for volunteering where they just come in do a task that needs to be done without really much thought that needs to be done like shelving books at the library or walking dogs at the humane society. If you like animals doing dog walking for a shelter is pretty fun I had a client that did it for a few months.

I hope you find something that you enjoy and can give something to the community. I think volunteering is one of the things that if more people that had time to do it would do would make communities a better place. One of the things I enjoy is the small community I'm a part of while volunteering with my organization.
