Apparently, Evan Turner and Jake Layman aren't enough. Although reluctant at first, I think I might be willing to include Juancho in the deal. I hate to lose that guy, but if that's what it takes to get James Harden here then I guess that's what Rosas will have to do. Nevertheless, I'll understand if there's a lot of resistance to that idea on this message board.
I know they are holding out for Adding an Aaron Brooks sign and trade and the rights to BOTH Paulao Prestes and Henk Norel but I'm gonna make it look like that's too much before caving to their demands.
I'm sure the Rockets are wanting an absolute haul for Harden if they deal him. They should. For some reason Harden wants out. Expanding his list is just a classic part of the playbook to make things more interesting...or simply a report of teams that likely checked in and did some actual interest to see what it would take.
I think Harden is expanding his list because he really wants out and the teams he preferred the most showed little if any interest in giving Houston what they expect in return. It's a waiting game now. At some point, a top tier team that's underperforming a quarter or half way into the season might bite the bullet and over a lot for Harden. But so far, the teams Harden wants to end up on are doing well without him and aren't interested in his attitude, poor defense or ball-dominant style.
The Nets and Sixers look good and I see little chance that either of those two teams will show any interest in acquiring Harden. I don't see the Celtics trading for Harden even though they're struggling a bit out of the gate. Right now, I'd say the Nuggets, Warriors and Blazers are the three most likely landing spots for Harden.
The Nuggets won't give up Jokic, but the question is whether they'd be willing to give up Murray. If not, could they get Harden for a package of Porter Jr., Will Barton, Harris and future picks?
Along with the Nuggets, the Blazers have been mentioned as a new entry on Harden's list. I don't see them trading Lillard. Could the Blazers put together a adequate package with McCollum and other assets?
The Warriors haven't been mentioned yet as a team on Harden's list, but I think they might be the most likely destination. The Warriors have a lot of assets they could put together in a package for Harden. One potential package could be build around Klay Thompson and James Wiseman. Trading Harden clearly puts Houston in a rebuild situation. Klay Thompson is hurt now, but if he comes back healthy, he's a bet on the future. And the Warriors have a lot of future draft assets to put into a package. Those assets include the Wolves's 2021 first and second round picks along with the Warriors own future picks. Putting Harden together with Curry, Green and Oubre would put the Warriors back into contention for a playoff run.
