He does come with some baggage. He's been pretty immature in his time in Philly getting a bunch of team fines early on in his career for tardiness and behavior. The most recent incident isn't great either: http://www.phillyvoice.com/report-nerlens-noel-sued-trashing-rental-home-weed-gatorade/. For someone who hasn't been able to stay on the court he sure acts like he's hot shit. I'm torn. I see how his skill set could benefit us, but he's not good enough or been on the court enough to come with this much baggage IMO especially when he is a free agent this summer and who really knows what his market value is. It only takes one team to screw us. I think I would rather go for him in the off season and possibly fail than trade for him and have the baggage show up again or have someone give him a big offer to screw with us.

I'm not saying Noel is a Hall of Famer, but Dennis Rodman also came with baggage. I don't think Noel's issues are enough to make me stay away from him. I blame most of it on the situation he's in. From the tanking to using multiple top draft picks on his position... They didn't even make an effort to build around him.

Cam what contract would you feel comfortable giving Noel?
I ask because that's the hard thing for me about Noel. There are legit questions about him. Health and Attitude are not trivial. What role would he accept? Do those things keep me from wanting him? Not exactly because I am a fan of his but if the Wolves get this guy they are going to have to commit somewhat significantly to him. It makes me pause a bit and consider what I would be able to give up both in a trade and in dollars.

I think it's pointless to think about simply because I doubt the goal is to have $23 mil a year allotted to backup PF/C in Aldrich and Dieng.

I'd give up Belly for him.

How would you rank Noel against that group and throw Monroe in there for good measure?

Yup, I think we'd be better off focusing on a legit wing that can defend and play smart basketball. We're forced now to play LaVine and Wiggins a ton of minutes because Shabazz is difficult to keep on the floor for extended run and Brandon Rush has been a total disappointment. We could really use another strong wing.
My hope is that Thibs and his assistants eventually coach our existing bigs up defensively.

Noel is at least 20-30+ lbs. lighter than all these guys and is more of a pogo-stick/athlete vs. being a sound positional defender (although Jordan is both huge AND a pogo stick which is what makes him devastatingly good defensively). Offensively he's similar to Jordan in that he is a great target above the rim, but otherwise isn't much of a threat.
