I HIGHLY doubt it. This deal basically takes them out of being able to sign Durant and or anyone else of note.

I would lol
I'd consider it but I would have to actually decide what a I thought of Zion first. Back to reality...I doubt you could find a team with what 70+ million in cap space that would want to do that deal. That's like Towns and a chance at durant and another max guy for Zion. Not gonna happen.

I mean in no way is it realistic, but if I get a chance to start over and rebuild with the right kind of star, Zion is that guy.
I would trade Towns straight up for Zion if given the chance.

I wouldn't. Towns is a proven NBA star, a terrific 3-point shooter, an elite scorer and rebounder, still young at age 23 and highly durable. Zion is a physical freak of nature, but he's not particularly long, doesn't have NBA 3-point range and we can't know for sure how we'll he'll perform at the NBA level. His weight and the way he plays should give some pause when it comes to his projected durability. Now if I could also jettison the Wiggins and Gorgui contracts as part of the deal, I'd do it. But I don't see the Knicks dealing the #1 pick under any circumstances. If they get the #1 pick, they'll take Zion and never look back. They won't give up the incredibly positive marketing Zion would bring to the Knicks in the New York market. And they negative media blowback that would result from trading him. They won't trade him for Anthony Davis either.

He sells out for impact blocks/steals far more than you'd like and he's still got a long way to go in terms of positioning/angles in cutting off ball-handlers. He has all the tools in the world, but again, how many guys can you say that about that never really develop on defense?

That's right, Cam. Moreover, 1.8 blocks per game in college doesn't foreshadow a great shot blocker in the NBA. And Zion's certainly not a sure thing on the offensive end either. He can get to the rim pretty easily in college, but he's a 34% low-volume 3-point shooter from the colleges arc. And he hits only 64 % of his free throws. It's also an open question as to how easily will Zion be able to get the rim against the much higher level of competition in the NBA.
I happen to believe that Zion will become a great 2-way NBA player. But he has weaknesses when you look beyond the hype. When you look honestly at those weaknesses and consider the long list of past college greats who have underperformed in the NBA, you realize that it's a stretch to assume that Zion will be even as good as KAT is right now.
