Maybe teams are scared off because dlo to the wolves is all but done.
Or maybe we're one of a few teams who see him as a max player.

I'd imagine the Wolves meet with J.J. Reddick, but it makes sense for him to return to Philadelphia. With how much focus Rosas places on three-point shooting, I'd imagine he'd want a proven shooter starting at the 2. Neither Okogie or Culver are that right now.
Names will continue to be floated around, but I think Jeremy Lamb with a large portion of the MLE would make a ton of sense. He's a three-level scorer with length and is a very underrated defender. Very good shooter off the catch. He's also trending upward as he had plenty of career highs last year.
If it were up to me, I'd like to see Russell-Lamb-Covington as our 1-3 with a defensive-minded, gritty big next to Towns in the starting lineup. Obviously, Taj Gibson would be who I wanted to fit this billet.

Windhorst suggested that may be the case on Wolfson's podcast. I think that could give us an advantage. I don't see him as a max player but again if we basically swap Wiggins max for Russell's max it would be look at this point to be a big win.

Having Russell under a max over Wiggins may be a win, but both situations cap our potential in my opinion.

It is a gamble. It all depends on how you view Russell. It also depends on how you view having Russell for max which is over X amount you think he is worth or...not getting him at all. To offset the Russell possible overpay the Wolves need to find/develop their bargain contract guy and they have one in Covington already.

I'm just saying I'd rather have Russell than Wiggins, and I'd rather have Russell than not have him. But I wonder if he is really a max player if you're trying to field a championship team.
