Dodgers don't need him they have there stud in Seager coming back from Injury. Machado was always a rental to them. I think media turns Machado into more of villain than anybody else. You never hear a bad word about him from his teammates. I think he's one those guys who's cocky and has a temper sometimes which wouldn't be a bad thing for the twins who have been so bland with leadership the past 8 years
I love the idea of going after Machado, but I'm not ready to give up on Sano. Our new manager has been charged with the goal of developing our young players, and I want Sano and Buxton to be his top priorities. I leave Machado at SS, Sano at 3b and move Polanco to 2b. Royce Lewis had an error about every 4 games this past year, so I think he needs a little more time in the minors.

I think the only real bone I would pick with Jester's plan would be bringing up Lewis to start the season if he goes bonkers and moves up and worthy at some point sure but I'd take some time. We don't need another Aaron Hicks Buxton type situation where we bring a guy up too soon.
I agree the Lewis move is Brash. I actually didn't know he averaged that many errors last year. Good find LST, then I would put Machado at SS put Polanco at 3B and sign Forsythe to a one year deal. I just want Lewis to be our Acuna or Soto so bad!!!

He's never going to have that kind of Power. Body composition wise, he is similar to Jeter. 1/2 inch shorter, 5 pounds lighter.

FWIW Lewis had nearly the HRs and doubles last season as Jeter had in his entire minor league career.
I'm curious to see what Jester's reaction is now that Pollock signed with the Dodgers. Would he have been in favor of that type of deal for the Twins? It looks to more money and for longer than Jester suggested. Jester you may want to wait to chime in till we have the full contract details since it seems like some of these contract numbers have gotten inflated by incentives etc.

From what I seen reported it's 4 years 55 mil? He did get more than I expected and I'm super surprised on the length. I consider myself a Pollack guy but he's injury prone so I would say No I would not be in favor of this deal. I thought with his injury history the next contract he got would be 2 years with and option and that's why I went with 3 years for the twins because that's what I thought it would take to get him here. Anyways good for him I think this phenomenal deal for him.
Also what another boring offseason for the Twins. Btw I have it on pretty good authority the twins best offer for Cody Allen was 2 years 12 mil with incentives. What a splashy offer to entice someone to come here.

Interesting thanks for the info. Honestly I was a little surprised at how much Allen got.
"Some background on @ByRobertMurray's scoop yesterday on the #MNTwins making Yasmani Grandal an offer before he signed with Milwaukee: They did, and it was for multiple years in the $13M/year range. Talks never gained traction, unfortunately. But the Twins definitely tried."
