Garpax and Reinsdorf thinking they have a fast one pulled on us would be great lol, look at their track record. Thibs has sat on his ass and made literally no trades so I take him by default in terms of trades. They just traded away their best shooter and Taj for peanuts let hope they follow it up with another bad deal

I hope Boston signs Hayward and then they'll leave Butler alone, and I think for Cleveland Chicago would rather have the pick than Love if you're starting over. Either we make out like bandits and get him without giving up our core 3 no matter whatever else it takes or we get absolutely fucked and he deals one of them there's no middle ground

Interesting.. I like both Rubio and Lavine, but I'd be willing to roll the dice on Rubio+Lavine for Butler. Adding #7 might be a bit rich for me though given Butler is the oldest, and most expensive, player in the trade. Rubio, like him or not, has been the one consistent net positive on this team. Lavine has fantastic offensive upside and he's getting better at a torrid pace, also a deadly 3 point shooter, and is very young.

The reason I'd still do those two for Butler is because Butler is a plus player on both ends of the court, can handle the ball which will take pressure off Dunn, and it would instantly turn our lineup into a pretty good one defensively, especially if we can figure out a way to get a defensive stopper up the middle. Butler would also be a great guy for Dunn to learn from. Oh...and it'd give us a legitimate all-star caliber stud to pair with Towns.

Holy shit Bulls reporter Nick FRiedel said Dunn + 7 for BUtler might actually happen on ESPN radio not too long ago, and that the Bulls obviously really like Dunn

Not the greatest basketball mind here but wouldn't it make sense for Celtics to wait for a year before making a power move in the east? Why not load up with young talent (probably Jackson) and try to sign Hayward and take your chance against the Cavs this year and then the year after that Cavs will probably be blowin up and put in rebuild mode.

Wow. If true, I'm surprised. On the other hand, if Chad Ford's tiers accurately reflect the views of NBA GMs, then it's not crazy. Chad has several tier 2 (potential allstars) available at #7. And a lot of teams, including the Bulls, were really high on Dunn last summer. So it would essentially be two top 7 picks for Butler. I still don't believe that would be enough for the Bulls, but if it's true the Wolves would have to do that deal.

Are we allowed to throw in our 2019 pick as well if need be? Because I'd still do it in a second

I don't think so. They can try to sign Hayward, but there's no guarantee they'd succeed in signing him and they certainly won't know by draft night. Moreover, Butler's a better overall player right now than Hayward. Finally, recall that the Celtics had the best regular season record in the East and they did that without much contribution from Jaylen Brown. Yet, Brown showed in the playoffs that he can be an elite player. Although Cleveland handled the Celtics in the playoffs, the Cavs are not the Warriors -- not as good and not nearly as young. Again, the Celtics are already knocking on the Cavs' door in the East. Unlike the Wolves, they're ready to add a player like Butler.

I can see the Celtics trading their #3 pick, the Sixers pick they just acquired, their 2nd round pick and Olynyk for Butler and the Bull's #16 pick. I'm not even sure it would take that much. The Celtics would still have their entire core in tact with an up-and-coming Jaylen Brown and the addition of Jimmy Butler. They could infuse the team with more upside talent using the Bulls' #16 pick. And they'd still have their own pick and the Nets' pick in 2018.

No, we can't. Since our 2018 pick is compromised, we can't deal our 2019 pick. We just don't have the assets to get Butler without giving up our #7 pick and one of our core guys in my view. So I'm doubting the report about Dunn and #7.

No 2021 is the earliest 1st we can offer because of the payne trade
