Kevin Garnett Catches Up With The Timberwolves On 'Area 21'

Wigins says next year he will be all-star.

This clip made me wish Garnett was still involved with this team. Thanks for sharing.

KG basically called Wiggins a bitch in that segment.

It seems like KG and Wiggins have a great relationship including KG being able to call him out. I didn't sense Wiggins being insulted at all, seemed like friendly banter. You calling someone a bitch on the internet repeatedly comes across a little more creepy to me.

Weird reply, but that's okay. Took it as KG calling him out saying he still needs a fire lit under his ass [again]... since he can't do it himself. And yeah, those three have good relationships, but you can easily sense the disappointment from KG.

No doubt that kg is a disappointed, but that also means he sees something there.

I was thinking something along these lines too. I thought it was pretty interesting KG met with Wiggins AND Towns along with Ryan. It didn't seem like KG was there to just try and embarrass Wiggins and if so that would be kind of a dick thing to do. KG must have some hope for him or why have him in this feature?

Maybe it's sad that KG sees something in Wiggins...or maybe there is some hope. Idk KG said Thon was gonna be really good. Maybe he will still be right. I think there are things that hold Wiggins back BUT I think most would agree that it's between the ears. This video makes me think Wiggins knows there is more and that I don't think he knows how to get there. It's like some sort of mental block. Can anyone here relate to that? I can. It's not an excuse just an observation and I'm not suggesting there is hope he ever really gets past it.

I can relate. Me and weight loss just can't seem to figure it out. But we keep trying...

Kg thought thon would be good after a couple of workouts. Kg played with wiggs and was around wiggs the person for a couple of years.

I agree that the primary problem with wiggs is between the ears. We've seen him rise when challenged personally or on national games or marquee match ups. I think you make a good point about him not knowing how to get there consistently.

Raise your hand if you Thad Young picked as the best player back from the Kevin Love trade?

And yet this board dragged him through the mud while making countless excuses for Wiggins even to this day. Weird dynamic that was.

Flip made some pretty bad trades in his time. Traded young for about 30 games of KG

Many people on this forum HATED Thad Young.

I think they thought he was the anti-christ or something.

They hated that he couldn't rebound and was a gambler on d and doesnt protect the rim. Funny that he had a career season in rebounding and blocks the following season for the nets.

I didn't hate Thad Young. I recall thinking that the Wolves should have kept the 1st round pick they gave up to get him. It goes to a point I've made on this Board a lot about the Wolves ownership and front office. You have to have a clear goal and a coherent, consistent plan get there. Trading Kevin Love was the signature move to launch a rebuild. When you start a rebuild, your primary focus, especially in a mid-market like ours, has to be the accumulation of draft picks and young players with high upside. You don't use assets to obtain role players with no or minimal upside. Thad Young has always been a good role player. But that's not what the Wolves needed at the time.
