Trade Target Performance Tracker
Re: Trade Target Performance Tracker
For the trade target tracker we might as well point out the performances of Butler and...Dieng. If Dieng shows more games like this where he looks more like a competent player and has his confidence back some team might be more willing to take him back or the Wolves might not be as apt to move him.

Yeah G had some fire last night. I hope he keeps it up. He seems to be such a great guy.

Give me Richardson and that contract over Otto. Richardson is on a very nice trajectory. Granted he's played for a very good coach, things good change quickly here.

I would easily take Porter over Richardson all day...especially if taking Richardson forced us to take on Waiter's contract. We already have one starting wing who can't rebound in Wig, so we can't afford to start another who is even worse (Richardson). Porter and Richardson are the same age, but Porter is a far superior rebounder and 3-point shooter. I think this discussion is academic, because I believe the Wizards consider Porter untouchable, but I still see him as a far superior option to Richardson.

LST it is academic but the hypothetical is that either you believe Richardson becomes as good or nearly as good as Porter. You don't believe that. I probably don't either but I do think it's possible. I think he might be more able to be a perimeter oriented defender guarding 1-3 and then 4's also. Have you considered that Richardson is signed for at least 3 years while Porter can opt out after year 3? Since you think Porter might be off limits (tend to agree). Let's throw this out there and tell me what you would do.
Butler straight up for Porter
Butler for Richardson Waiters plus a 1st round pick.
Keep in mind look at the salary difference for these guys as a whole (Richardson+Waiters vs just Porter). Just kinda fun to think about and maybe a way to view Richardson in a bit of a different way than before. It's more of an excercise to do than anything. Gotta keep our trade minds sharp this year! Lol

If he keeps playing like that I wouldn't want to trade him at all.
Jim Pete was talking about his screens last night and how he sets such good screens and needs to roll to the basket more instead of popping out.
Is there anyone on the roster who is anywhere near as good as him at setting screens and such?

Porter and Wig on the wings together would be a disaster. Neither can dribble. And those contract together would be even worse.

That's my thought, Duke. I don't know if I'd call it a disaster. But the game today is all about ballhandling, ball movement and 3-point shooting. Having two starting wings who don't handle the ball particularly well would be problematic.

I like porter, but not for our offense. Porter gets spoonfed great looks because of wall. Unless porter has some ability to create his own shot, i don't think he thrives on this team with teague and thibs' offense.

Re: Trade Target Performance Tracker
28 / 4 / 5 for Richardson tonight. He hit 5 three pointers.
He's looking like THE guy through 2 games for Miami. A big part of it has been his ability to get to the line. He only got there less than 2 times per game last season. He got there 8 times tonight.
THIS is what a young player is supposed to do... improve. Every year. He's on year 4. And it looks like he's still on an upward trajectory. Caris Lavert is expected to be THE guy in Brooklyn this season.
And it's not stat hunting to find progression like we have to do with so many Wolves players.
I'd have been happy with either one in a package for a disgruntled Butler. Neither guy may pan out to be a star... or even much better than they are now. But they are showing growth. And a team like the Wolves has to finally start finding those diamonds in the rough to become credible.
