I'm here to serve!

Games Started: 11
MPG - 33.7
PPG - 9.4
FG%/3PT%/FT% - 45.9/27.3/88.9
RPG - 2.5
APG - 4.9
TO - 1.2
SPG - 2.9
+/- - +12.8 per game (!)

Unspectacular but solid. What I think made him fit so well was that they already had three scorers in that lineup along with a pretty good playmaker in Butler. So having a PG that got the ball to them quickly and defended well was almost addition by subtraction as compared to Teague. With RoCo replacing Butler, I do feel our starting PG needs some scoring chops.

Philly needs a guy who can actually play now which Tyus can. We don't really have a PG of the future on our team. We have a guard sitting on the bench not playing in Okogie. Bayless is on the team as a serviceable emergency backup to Teague and Rose. Tyus is ok, but I don't think he's a starter. I think he's a plus backup but would be a minus as a starter. Fultz is at an all time low. We might make the playoffs this year, but we aren't gonna do damage yet. Would you take the risk on Fultz as a chance at finding the future PG on this team? I'm on the fence on this one.

Interesting question, Kahns. Coming out of college Fultz had the makings of a great NBA player, although I had him rated lower than Ball and Tatum. But Fultz clear has a serious issue and it's not clear whether it's physical, mental or both. Whatever the issue is, he's a true boom or bust guy right not. He's either going to be another Thabeet or he'll be an allstar. I don't see any in-between with him. That's very different from a guy like Wiggins. Although Andrew hasn't lived up to his star potential at this point, he's been a productive, durable player who has shown enough to suggest that he could still become an allstar caliber player or better.

My gut tells me Fultz will be out of the League within 2 years. And I like Tyus a lot. I actually believe Tyus has more untapped upside and I eventually see him being a slightly better version of JJ Barea. So I'd opt for keeping Tyus as the bird in hand. He's a very solid backup PG right now who could develop into a good starter or simply a terrific backup. He's one of those guys whose positive contribution while on the court greatly exceeds his stats.

But then again, getting Fultz for Tyus could turn out to be a phenomenal deal for the Wolves, giving the Wolves that second star they need next to KAT.

A week ago I saw the deals as relatively even, but recent events are changing my thinking. Whiteside didn't play the 4th quarter of the last game and actually left the bench before the game was over...Wade covered for him and said he needed to use the toilet, but it's more likely his volatile behavior is rising to the surface. And JRich is coming back to earth from and offensive perspective (and despite being a plus defender, is nowhere near RoCo level). Right now it looks like we dodged a bullet on this one.

Well, not only have the individual performances fallen in favor of Covington, just consider the fit. I have watched Richardson play a few times this year and he is even smaller than his bio would suggest. He needs to play the 2. Yet the 2 is where Wiggins is best at as well. Covington is clearly a 3 and fits on this current Wolves team way better than Richardson would fit. And that doesn't even consider Okogie who is also a 2.

It may not have been obvious at first, but Covington has clearly been the best fit we could have hoped for!

Consider me absolutely shocked that Josh Richardson is cooling off... And speak for yourself, friend!

Before the season, I would have been all-in on this idea, however, the circumstances have clearly changed and I realize that the difference in circumstances is why you're even proposing it.

Right now, though, I'd say no. Fultz's high salary for being the top pick and the lack of concrete production is two red flags. The real kicker for me saying no is the reported nerve troubles he has in his neck stemming to his shoulder.

In a statement updating Fultz's status, Dr. Daniel Medina, the Sixers' vice president of athlete care, said that after a series of consultations with specialists across several disciplines, Fultz had received a diagnosis of thoracic outlet syndrome.

A statement provided to ESPN by Fultz's agent, Raymond Brothers, went further, saying that the diagnosis was neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome, which Brothers said "affects nerves between the neck and shoulder resulting in abnormal functional movement and range of motion, thus severely limiting Markelle's ability to shoot a basketball."

The inserted quote is from The NY Times in a very interesting article about his situation. Here's the link: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/04/sports/markelle-fultz-injury-76ers.html

But to summarize my thoughts in one statement: Due to his injury, I think Fultz's NBA career trajectory and overall potential is cooked. I'd stay away.

Thanks Q. You and others are more savvy than I at finding this stuff. I'll take those numbers but yeah his 3 point shooting is still bad. However I'd be curious seeing what 30 or 40 games would look like.

Apparently 4 teams are after tolliver:

Dallas: not much there
Lac: would love beverley, but likely teodosic or maybe luc
Lal: probably stephenson
Philly: fultz?

Id take fultz if he's offered and let him take the year off.

I'd guess we would prefer to send him to Philly because they are in the east. Why help a team you are fighting against to make the playoffs? I'm not sure what to expect back though. I'd be happy to get a decent 2nd round pick but teams have to send back some salary also.

Wait... why would Philadelphia even consider Jones when... they have McConnell to back up its "superstar" starting PG?

And when the teams biggest need is outside shooting and Jones is a 33% shooter (28% on 3fg)?

[Note: McConnell is shooting 58% and has clearly been better than Jones in virtually every single category this season.]

This is funny, Playoff teams want one of reserves who doesn't play!! Another example of an underutilized players by Tibs. Tolliver should be seeing the court.

Fair enough. So who doesn't play?
