Miami is getting alot of talk.

Dieng absolutely has to be included in a deal and we'd have to take back a bad deal.

Most likely 1 of: whiteside, johnson, or olynyk

Plus

1 or 2 of: richardson, winslow, or bam

Plus future picks

I agree with the others...any deal with Miami has to include Richardson....sucks we might have to take back Whiteside. That's the last thing our fragile locker room needs, but if it gets us Richardson and unloads Dieng, it will probably be worth it. It also jettisons Butler to an Eastern Conference team.

....don't know how much of all this trade talk is just noise, but it seems encouraging that there appears to be a lot of activity going on. Butler is a top 10-12 NBA talent. Even with just one year left on his deal, he SHOULD get us something of solid value back. It will never be the same as a top 10 player, but hopefully we get a piece that can compliment and grow with KAT.

Even without butler, we have a top 10 offense.

Whiteside and richardson (if that's who we get) helps our defense immensely.

Some Rockets outlets think they can get Butler for Gordon and Tucker, some for just Gordon. I hope we're not that stupid.

If that was the worst deal on the table we could be in good shape. That's a win now type deal. I think everyone here agrees this team needs young players and assets in a deal. Gordon is basically a worse belayer than Butler (similar age both has injury history) but would fit the team much better. His shooting could help spacing. Tucker...wait we don't really need another sort of modern PF...wait is this the Wolves we are talking about? Weird. Lol my point is that Gordon would actually be a good fit here in the short term and if I was negotiating I would be talking up the win now aspect of that deal...to some extent. Tucker's deal I would have concerns taking that back. I'd rather have Nene and hold out for Chriss.

If the best offer we got was Gordon and Tucker, I would turn it down and let Jimmy rot or play in the G League all year.

Miami going "full press" on jimmy.

Wolfson and miami newsource claim that the heat arent budging on richardson. It looks like they want to give winslow (my guess) and salary filler.

If Winslow is the centerpiece of the deal (I still kinda like him) that sounds less like a "full court press" and more like token ball pressure when the PG gets near the 3 point line. Lol

Edit: I'll add here FWIW on both Winslow and whiteside some advanced stats defensive numbers from last year were pretty good especially for whiteside. Offense? Yikes it was not good. To me one advantage of getting whiteside is I think he opts out even if that last year is a bunch of money. The other option is some team basically trading for him next year for a 1 year low risk trial. He seems much easier to move than Dieng.

Butler and Dieng for Whiteside and Richardson.

Richardson becomes our starting wing next to Wiggins and Whiteside anchors the second unit and plays spot minutes next to Towns.
