Interesting stuff...I'll add to this speculation that Thibs did visit LA this summer for a few days! :) I'm sure he would love to be in the same city as his good friend Doc Rivers.

There are alot issues in Twolves organization at all levels from front office to the locker-room.
One of the biggest issues is the disconnect between Butler and Towns
Butler and Towns have had issues since last season and this disconnect was not addressed this entire summer. (Zero communication between the two over the summer).
They are not gonna get a good return on Jimmy Butler so they would rather try and make it work.
Thibs wants to win this year and feels like this core is the best way he can do that.
Woj doesnt think Minnesota wants to trade him at any level.
Woj says teammates dont have to like each other to play with each other.

Jon K and Souhan had some moderately interesting info in their latest podcast. One new bit of info was they both said the Wolves specifically Thibs and to some extent Layden are reaching out to media being more available. Souhan said he has had 3 separate conversations with Thibs in the last few weeks. Jon K said that he has heard there has been some movement towards Thibs and Layden also putting forth more effort in communicating with people throughout the organization as well. He said there are actually some positive signs but the question will be will this continue once the grind of the season starts.

Too little too late I think. Thibs is who he is and won't change. And as you suggest, any belated progress will likely disappear in the grind of the season. Thibodeau is a poor communicator and always has been. He doesn't communicate well to those outside the organization, and doesn't communicate well within the organization, both players, nonplayers and ownership. That was one of the knocks on him in Chicago that eventually contributed to him getting fired by the Bulls organization. If the team wins, Thibs can get away with it, but even then only for a while as we saw in Chicago. Ultimately, Thibs personality and approach are not conducive to creating a winning culture over the long haul. He's not the sort of guy who should be heading up an organization, much less a team of young NBA players. . Thibodeau is meant to be an assistant coach. That's who his is and that's the role he should have in the NBA.
Jimmy has requested a trade according to former AP guy. Has a 1-3 team list where he will sign an extension of he is traded there. Let's see what we get back.
