Anyways I told you so. Should have fired Thibs after the season, it's not too late. Should have traded Butler predraft.

Yes, yes, and yes

And none of this is talking in hindsight from me. I could see this coming from a mile away.

To me the difference of the idea of trading Butler now vs trading him before/during the draft was that Butler is such a good player the return you get back for him wasn't worth it IF Butler did work out. The people that thought it wouldn't were right. There was less knowledge back then but regardless the people that wanted to deal him then made the right call.

Now we are looking at deals to get something for Butler. I think a realistic question will he is how much different the value of the deal will be than before the draft. I agree it's likely less but I was also skeptical of the value coming back in a draft type deal. We will never really know but there will be plenty of speculation. Butler has some negatives which is why people on this forum wanted to trade him. I wanted to keep him and I acknowledged there were some problems although I admit I was overlooking them to some extent. Still even the guy NBA GM that said he wouldn't trade for Butler talked up how good The was and said someone would deal for him. I think there is an actual chance of coming away with this trade where it's not a joke. Again if anyone values Butler highly is Thibs. He isn't going to just give him away and his threats to keep him are probably going to believed more than if someone else was saying it.

I think I read somewhere that Butler can get a bigger contract if he is traded this year versus going free agent route. If so can this be used to the Wolves advantage? Is there a 3rd team that would be willing to take expirings from one of the three Butler "approved" teams and give us something worthwhile?

Anyone following the Wiggins / Stephen Jackson fallout that's been happening? Wiggins certainly doesn't lack motor when talking shit about Stephen Jackson. This is getting fun. Somehow I think this whole ordeal is going to light a fire under Wiggins and Towns. Love it.

Wiggins is wet wood. There has never been any fire there and the internet isn't going to change that. If he cared half as much on the basketball court as he did on the internet, he'd almost be worth his contract and Butler might have been more likely to want to stay.

Butler is a bitch and he can go. I'd take Wiggins over Butler's hot air any day. At least Wiggins didn't sit on the bench for game 7 against the Rockets.

Anyone still want to give flack for what I said at the time of the trade? Terrible idea and a quick way to take our rebuild back two steps. That playoff run was fun though!

This team with rubio/tyus/dunn/LaVine/Wiggins/Dieng/KAT/#7 pick and whoever we get with our two firsts this year would be much more enticing than this shit show.

Shortsighted people at the head of a business get fucked. Always.
