I've never heard anything credible to suggest KG demanded a trade. I think it's just people unintentionally misconstruing facts because they misremember them. If someone has something to the contrary I'd be interested to hear it. I'm guessing KG basically being forced out even though it ended up being VERY good for him and he won a championship is another reason he isn't exactly pals with Glen especially after Glen said what he did about KG afterwards. So agin hopefully Glen doesn't say anything stupid about Jimmy...but he probably will even if he didn't mean it that way or even if he isn't wrong kinda like the stuff he said about Love.

What I remember is the Wolves coming to KG with a potential trade to Boston, but he declined only for Boston to then acquire Ray Allen and then the Wolves ended up asking again and he agreed to it (obviously because of the chance to play with 2 all stars).

Yeah. That's about how I remember all of it, too. But the narrative has changed.

The other part that bugs me even more is the "Garnett was wrong for showing loyalty to his fans and staying in MN... he should have bolted years before!"

F that. That sort of mentality will end up driving some of us away... even if it brings in legions of more casual fans.

KG upon learning about the Boston offer went to Taylor and offered to sign a 3 year / 20 mil per extension. Taylor met with Mchale, and they decided against it. It was all Mchale on the decision to move KG. This is FACT!

You're right SJM. Sadly, there's a long, long list of horrendous player personnel decisions through the Wolves history. But direct responsibility for those decisions rests with the legation of terrible front office executives this franchise has had over those years. Based on what we know about Taylor's preferences, it's too bad he didn't actually meddle. :)

Jon K implied in his podcast when the Butler trade demand broke that Taylor has been very hands on in star moves in the past including the KG deal. The relationship seemed to be Taylor signing off on all of our bad deals, which makes him more than culpable in the Timberwolves shit show. Plus he is the common denominator in all of the losing moves and crap product that has been on the court.

Beyond that isn't insulting players on their way out meddling? It certainly seems that way to me. It certainly impacts a GM's prospects of doing business that for sure. And all of Taylor's post trade comments on stars certainly took an insider lens.
