Re: Butler requests trade...
The Wolves just sent out an email touting the new Club TI experience and announcing single-game tickets go on sale in 20 hours...with a photo of Butler! Wow, I'll beat there's going to be a huge run on tickets in 20 hours!
Nice internal communication with this hapless franchise...

What was the benefit of Marbury leaving? That was a mistake for Marbury more than anything. I think this will ultimately be a mistake for Butler too.
We stuck with KG and eventually got to confrence final. Basically we're sticking to KAT. Benefit is a bad word but like pat said above I rather have resolution this petty drama bull crap

We have finally reached peak Wolves!
I'm surprised by it just from the fact that literally nobody talked to each other at all this summer between Towns, Jimmy, Thibs et al and all of a sudden the meeting and trade demand comes in just the last 2 days. What changed from the end of the year to now to escalate the situation to this level?

I hear you. This will definitely make me cheer even harder for KAT and Wiggins. Hope this all works out to their benefit. But Thibs is not looking good by any measure right now.

Woj says it's the Nets, Clippers and Knicks...all with max cap space. Interesting to not see the Lakers in there.

Re: Butler requests trade...
As long as fans encourage all this player-forced movement... it's only going to be more and more difficult for teams like the Wolves to compete.
Nobody is pining to play in places like Minnesota.
And it's become BIG BUSINESS for players to move... for the players, for their sponsors, for the NBA and for the people reporting on the NBA. I've been railing against the downside of shorter contracts for awhile now to mostly deaf ears. The NBA is thriving, in part because of this 24/7/365 news cycle of pure gossip and conjecture.
Sure, there are outliers like George in OKC. But that's not the new normal. And it's going to get worse before it gets better.
Fans don't care about other fans. And NBA fandom is driven A LOT by loyalty to players... more than provincialism for today's casual fans. It's "good" when star players leave an join other stars in "good" cities.
woe.
[Note: Written moments before I saw Butler's list of teams... NYK, NJ and LAC... wow. He wants to be on the groundfloor of a resurgence...]

As I said way back when we hired Thibs, he was a bad fit. I also thought Butkervwas a bad fit. The age and personalities didn't match up well.
But this is what happens when you hire the wrong people in senior management positions. Although it was reasonable to consider Thibs a very good head coach choice when we hired him, there was no basis for considering HOM a good choice to serve as Head of our front office when he hadn't even worked in a front office before or run and organization of any kind. Taylor made a terrible choice hiring Thibs as PBO and now the organization is paying the price.

This is the Wolves we're talking about. The only thing that should surprise us is when the expected actually happens.

This organization is so dysfunctional and has been for years. Decades actually. The culture of the team has always been really bad. Can anybody think of a time when our owner, front office, and players acted like professionals? It's just so disappointing.
Whatever happened to just talking to someone like an adult? Why can't anybody in this organization do that?

Well that's actually really good news then. He really is an idiot. If we got a draft pick out of either of those teams we'd have a player and a lottery pick.
