Just listened to it, thanks for posting Tim.

Yes, Jon K flat out said that the anecdote Doogie shared with folks about Rubio changing agents because he wanted to leave is simply not true. I trust Jon K's more sober take on these things than Doogie.

That being said, Jon K still didn't rule out Rubio being traded if the right deal came along for all parties involved, but the contentious, "I want out of here!" narrative that some folks on here breathlessly fell over themselves over when it first came out does not appear to be the case at all.

Jon K's top two prospects at #7 are Isaac and Markkanen.

I listened to the podcast earlier. I'll add a couple things that Jon said or add to what Q already said.

Jon said Rubio switched for a number of reasons. One was that Fegan had some issues which Lip has pointed out. Jon flat out said Rubio was looking for someone with a different way about going about things and Fegan was a guy that never wanted Rubio in MN and was not a guy that worked in the background. He said Schwarz is more low key but signing with a big time agent like him with his status would give him more opportunities for endorsements etc. I would imagine with the issues that Fegan has right now he wouldn't be the best guy to have working for you in general. Schwartz has worked with the Wolves with a number of players so you could see that as a positive if you want to.

On a Rubio trade. Jon basically sounded like Rubio really would only want to get traded if he was going to a team that was going to win and he would be a starter. In other words he isn't really looking to leave and the Wolves aren't really looking to deal him. Of the right deal came along...well you could say that about all but a handful of players in the entire league.

To clarify what Q said when Jon had Isaac and Markkanen at #7 it was him making his best guess it didn't sound like he had any particular information. His rationale for both players was pretty sound.

If you want to hear some interesting funny stories you should check out the last "Sports from Hell show" on that podcast network. Russo the hockey guy used to cover sports in Miami including the Heat and he had some great stories and some worthwhile insight into the Heat organization.

I'm glad Jon K weighed in. No surprise. The narrative Doogie was echoing was silly from the start. A player leaving an embattled agent is likely leaving him because he's embattled. Choosing Schwartz, who represents Cole Aldrich and who isn't combative with management the way Fegan is doesn't signal an intent to leave. Like Jon, I wouldn't be surprised if Ricky is traded this summer, but it won't be because he wants out. And I'd still bet against him getting traded because of his strong finish and the hole it would leave here at the PG position.
