I do seem to be one of the few that see something in Payne that is worth cultivating (more than Bennett, IMO)...
I've never been a big Payne fan, even during his college career. But it's too early to just throw him away. I'll be much more critical around the all-star break if he doesn't show improvement.
I can't stand Payne OR that trade, but if you're going to get rid of one of the two clueless PFs on the roster, it needs to be Bennett. Payne's cheaper and played about half a season in the league. He also plays much harder than Bennett. He could MAYBE turn into a rotation player. MAYBE.
(Tim, where's that egg on my face you so vehemently promised me?)

I would take Bennett. He is younger and has more upside. Bottom line is we are basically stuck with both next year. I would have them and Deng compete for the PF spot next year. Maybe one will emerge. I doubt it, but who knows.
Just read that DeAndre Jordan and Chris Paul had a falling out and that could affect Jordan staying. With that being said, if the Clippers lose Jordan, would the be interested in Pekovi? or is he stuck here?

I think Pek is stuck at least one more year until the cap goes up. Then if he can play 60+ games I would think someone would be willing to take him off our hands.
