I thought he was the best prospect in this draft class coming in and thought he had a great chance to win ROY. But I really didn't think he would look so comfortable in Iso and his shot was way better than I thought it would be. He has it all, if he keeps working the sky is the limit.

I was right there with you World. When a lot of people were saying Parker would win it, I was in Wiggins camp.

But even though he won the award as I thought he would, he exceeded my expectations offensively. I love the way he decided to take over games late in the season. I think he will be an absolute monster as soon as next year.

Yep. We where certainly the biggest wiggins supporter from the get go cool. There was no doubt from us that he is the best rookie while majority of the posters either has doubts on him or think parker is going to be better in year 1. While its unfortunate that parker suffered a season ending injury, there is still no doubt that wiggins would still win it even with a healthy jabari competing vs him.

I especially like his last few games where he just kept on attacking the basket and looking to dunk on people.

Purely subjective, especially when Jabari would have had the opportunity to have comparable stats while being on a playoff team.

Wiggins won it fair and square, but let's not let the homerism affect the quality of our posts.

My $8 bet will pay $38. Almost as much as I spent on Wolves tickets this year.

Lol cam. I said wiggins will win roy the moment the trade was official. Homerism has nothing to do with it. I wasnt swayed or convinced, he was my pick the second he was officially a wolf.

You saying jabari might post similar numbers is speculative and subjective. Not exactly the 'quality post' standard you throw around.

Wiggins deserves the award. I dig that he played big minutes in all 82 games. And he had some moments and showed improvement. All great. But I won't look back on the stats from the season and think "wow." They are great for a 19-year-old. But not great for a ROY, especially when many think they're hollow stats. (23.3 ppg at the end during the long losing streak). But that's not really the takeaway. There's so much context that needs to be taken into account with Wiggins' season.

He showed flashes of future brilliance. Yes, I know the advanced stats guy might cringe at basketball fans using the eye test to actually judge somebody (how dare we!), but I think it's warranted here. Wiggins' stats didn't wow me. His potential did more than a few times.

I won't guarantee future superstardom for him. But, at least it's possible. And that's saying something in itself. As long as he keeps improving, the Wolves may have the franchise-changing guy that every team needs.

And that makes an absolutely terrible, pathetic and awful season more palatable.

Would have been interesting to see what happened if Jabari Parker wasn't injured.

His stats were pretty solid. 12 / 6 / 2 / 49% in 29 minutes for a playoff team.

1. Would he have shown improvement like Wiggins did?
2. Would the Bucks have been as good? Remember, Khris Middleton effectively took his place and became a revelation for the team. Would Middleton have pushed Parker to get better... or would it have been an awkward situation where the ballyhooed rookie was outplayed by the cheap backup?
3. Mirotic earned 1st place votes despite low minutes and a mixed bag of stats. Parker would have had better stats than Mirotic AND the playoff booster on his resume. Especially since Milwaukee won so many more games than last season... some would have attributed a lot of that to Parker.
4. Wiggins earned the award. But Parker's injury sure made it easier.

I'm not talking about you picking Wiggins for ROY. That wasn't all that mind-blowing of a prediction, but kudos to you.

I'm talking about you insinuating that Jabari wouldn't have continued to progress as the season went along like Andrew did. ROY might not have been the one horse race that it was, especially when the candidate in question hypothetically helped his team make the post-season a year after they were the worst team in basketball. I don't see why you can't understand where I had issue with the comment.

Again, Wiggins won it and more importantly, he looks like a future star, but it's okay to be fair when discussing other angles.

Congrats to Wiggins! I think he did better then I hoped.

As for Parker he seems to have the injury bug. If I remember correctly he had a knee injury in high school too. Not a good sign long term.
