Well shit, I think we have to start looking for positives here.
Maybe KG will scream at AB and get him to realize he has to actually work to get the most out of his talent.

They won't have max cap space next season even with Bud off the book, and that's what it would take to get Green
Young is gone, KG comes off - I don't see why we wouldn't have the space.

I like Draymond Green... a lot.
But is he a max player? I think the beauty of a guy like Green is that he can so easily fit into so many roles on a team and make it better. But, that's easier when you're paid like a complementary player. To have the highest salary on the team and shoot 2 - 6?
Expectations are going to change significantly for Green once he inks that huge contract.

Golden State is not going to let Green go. Period. End of Story.
And I'm thrilled with Thad for Young. It's the right thing to do for many, many reasons. Don't know if we win more games this year or less. But considering everyone's predictions for roughly 8 more wins, it can't get much worse!

How can they afford him? Klay is going to get a max this offseason. They still have Lee, Curry, Bogut and AI on big deals. I don't see them matching anything over 10 million for Green. They just can't afford it because they'll have a Brooklyn tax number if they do. Is Green going to be worth the 10's of millions of tax dollars it would cost to keep him?

Holy Crap.....Draymond Green for the max? What on earth is this world coming to!!!!!! Good player.....sure. System player....probably. Great situation for his skills......ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
This guy is the ultimate jack-of-most-trades, and not master of 1. A PF that shoots 43% in best season? Gets to line 2 times per game?
Look, I realize our situation at PF is a gaping hole right now, but at no point can we expect a 6'6" PF to hold up in our defense. Green is a guy that is thriving because he has zero expectation to do anything above average. He can just do garbage work, which is his strength. For anything close to $10M+ per, he needs to become a focal point on defense and offense for his next ballclub.....and I simply don't see him as that kind of player. Situationally, he can be very good, but he should never be a main cog. Max deal....crazy....
