That said I HATE this move. Even if we dump Budinger the return of KG does nothing for this team now or in the future. Zgoda says that this move may be Flip showing KG some love so when (if) KG and a group purchase the Wolves in the future his posistion with the club would be secure. That is some real bullshit right there even if I'm not sure how much I believe it.

There has to be some aspect of this deal that hasn't been reported. Maybe there is a young player or draft pick that no one knows about, that can be the only salvation this deal has in my eyes. Thad has to have more value than an over the hill punk like KG out there.

Just over here sitting in the wind

Last year everyone was hating on Jack when there were rumors about a potential Bud and Barea swap. Hindsight is a funny thing, eh?

I remember loving me some Jack. He was a HUGE part of the Warriors success a couple years back and wanted the Wolves to make a move for him.

Jack would be the new Thad Young if he came here...

1) He's a decent, but not great, veteran player.
2) He's not Ricky Rubio, and in fact, a polar opposite to Rubio in some ways which would be great fodder for Rubio fans to dismiss him.

There is a difference here, Thad is a starter and Jack is a backup. I would put no more faith in Jack than I did with Mo. In fact next year the Wolves could just move Jack like they did with Mo if they aren't competing.

My post was more a reflection on the fact that people thought we would be selling Bud while his stock was low, where is it at now?

Still there has to be more than KG/Jack coming back for Thad.

I love the idea of bringing KG back. Personal opinions about who he is, what hes done, or does, off the court bla bla bla. Put those aside.

His competitive fire is what this team desperately needs injected into it. He willed us to winning season after winning season, by his damn self. Without the KG years i doubt we have a team to root for. He knows what it takes mentality wise to win. I want Wiggins and Bennett to soak that up. I also see KG being the person to turn the lights on for AB, giving him the confidence he needs, to unleash the tools he already possesses.

Thad and bud for KG and a 1st. I'd be happy. I want nothing to do with jacks contract.

Ideally, I'd want this trade...

We get Perkins, KG, perry jones, and a 1st from brklyn.

Brooklyn gets Reggie Jackson, Thad young, budinger, pekovic

Okc gets lopez

Wow, this is a bit ambitious. How has Garnett's "will to win" helped the Nets this season. Oh yeah, they are 21-31 in a horrible conference. This trade is about 1 thing if it happens....eliminating Thad Young from our financial books for next season. Garnett is NOT a mentor, nor is he even a moderately good player at this point. He is an over the hill, end of the bench big. Assistant coach in the future? Wouldn't surprise me.

I actually like Thad Young, but I am on the side that he is overpaid for what he does on THIS team. We need GOOD starters before we can afford to pay 6th men types $9M+. My only hope is that there is something else attached to this trade, and not just the salary dump. But I would guess that if ownership knows he will exercise player option next season, they are probably feeling pressured to make his salary disappear.

To be honest, I don't even see Garnett traveling with the team for some road games.

As somebody pointed out, LaVine has spent less time on Earth than Garnett has spent in the NBA. The disconnect there is going to be very real. And it's not like Garnett is super patient or anything. The guy is used to playing with savvy vets and even champions... not brash young rookies and 2nd year players.

Garnett can't even take Wiggins and LaVine to the club (legally) for chrissakes!

Alex Kennedy tweeted that Thad nearly went to Dallas before Amare did. Considering what they have to trade back, it appears that the Wolves are just trying to rid themselves of Thad first and foremost. Flip must have big FA plans.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, wait a minute. You might be on to something here. Izzo becomes the coach, Draymond becomes our PF. Liking this very much. I could even put up with KG if that was the grand plan.
