The trade I suggested was Embiid and #3 for Bennett and #1. Of course they wouldn't do Embiid and #3 for #1.

Would you still do your trade with this week's Embiid news, Cool? I offer up #1 and filler, but I don't consider AB filler yet, so I don't do it. Even with Embiid's foot problem, I would pull the trigger with assets like our seconds, Bud, and Bjelica though.

I don't think I would LST. But I happen to think that Towns is just too good to not take with #1. We are very fortunate to be in the #1 spot.

I honestly think he's going to have an injury plagued career ala Oden and wouldn't trade anything of value for him. I seem to recall someone suggesting we trade the top pick for Embiid so I guess David Kahn does really post on this board.

More than one has suggested that.

To be fair it was more like #1 pick for embiid and sixers, pick

Exactly, and even with the Embiid setback this week, I still would love it from the Wolves standpoint...assuming something isn't found in a physical which is deemed to be career-ending. To pick up a talent like Embiid in exchange for moving down two spots in a draft with so much talent in the top 5 would be grand theft larceny.

Pipe dream, though...Philly wouldn't do it. I think they are comfortable waiting to see who falls to them at 3.

I've already made a good case on why I wouldn't trade much of anything for Embiid, but I'll remind you of something that I've already said. Embiid has the same foot injury that ended, keyword being ENDED, Bill Walton and Yao Ming's careers. Feet/lower leg injuries are killers for bigs, as we're finding out ourselves with Nikola Pekovic. Throw in the back issues and you have a guy with significant injury red flags. It would be dumb for us to lose out on drafting Towns for a gamble that is Embiid. It's not a necessary move and in my opinion, it'd be reckless. It's a big, fat, wide NO, N-O, from me.

Oh, Cool. God bless you for this. It's so fun to agree with people on this board.

Draft Towns and we win the draft. Don't get cute with it. I cannot stress this enough.

But if flips guy is okafor then i think you have to entertain getting embiid and 3 for some deal involving 1. Worse case u get russell and embiid. If worksnout you end up with okafor and embiid.

No, but I am starting to come around on something floated here a while back. Apparently Russell really impressed today, and Okafor is sliding. I love Towns trust me, but I'm starting to wonder about a deal involving Ricky that would allow us to draft Russell #1, and still get Okafor. We wouldn't be able to get Towns in this scenario, but I don't think Okafor would be that far fetched at #5 or #6. And if we can't get Okafor, maybe Porzingis or Stein would be realistic possibilities. Just spit balling here, but maybe it's not as cut and dried as just taking Towns. #1.

Russell+Okafor>Towns. If Flip can play that card then he should.

Also if Flip wants to emulate the Warriors or wants to be a more modern team, Russell may make the most sense at 1.

But is Russell + Okafor > Towns + Ricky? That's the real question.
