Okafor's not falling past No. 4 if he does fall, and I'd be surprised if Philly passed on him in that scenario.

I'm reading he could fall to as low as #6. Likely? Probably not. Don't see Philly taking him though.

Philly would absolutely take him if Russell was off the board, which he is in this scenario, and then look to deal him for a ton of assets OR look to keep him since he's a top player in the draft. They don't draft for need. Hinkie is looking to get stars and sort the rest afterwards.

I could see them trading out of the spot for sure if Okafor is there - maybe to us. I just don't see them taking him to keep. Too many things can go wrong for them in that scenario.

If they are worried about Embiid which they probably are than taking Okafor makes slot of sense.

Towns and okafor are going 1-2. Book it. I can guarantee it. I dont see us or the lakers taking russell over towns/okafor.

No, but I am starting to come around on something floated here a while back. Apparently Russell really impressed today, and Okafor is sliding. I love Towns trust me, but I'm starting to wonder about a deal involving Ricky that would allow us to draft Russell #1, and still get Okafor. We wouldn't be able to get Towns in this scenario, but I don't think Okafor would be that far fetched at #5 or #6. And if we can't get Okafor, maybe Porzingis or Stein would be realistic possibilities. Just spit balling here, but maybe it's not as cut and dried as just taking Towns. #1.
Russell+Okafor>Towns. If Flip can play that card then he should.
Also if Flip wants to emulate the Warriors or wants to be a more modern team, Russell may make the most sense at 1.
But is Russell + Okafor > Towns + Ricky? That's the real question.
I wouldn't be making that swap. Take Towns and keep Rubio.
Pek, Towns, Dieng, KG, Bazz, Wiggins, Lavine, Martin, Rubio looks pretty good (injury questions aside) imo. I want to see Rubio run that team.

Re: Potential Draft Deals
If we could land Russell and Porzingas I absolutely do it. Floor spacing around Lavine and Wiggins getting to the basket will be important and will also help Russell get to the bucket easier. We'll have a pretty high pick again next year to get a C and looking at the draft board it's filled with bigs. That will probably change, but we'd have the 1-4 spots locked down and I don't imagine all of the bigs will fall out of the lottery.
I think there is zero chance of this happening at the end of the day because there is no way Flip deals Ricky before he knows he has his guy with that pick and I don't think he's willing to risk it by taking Russell over Towns. As soon as he would take Russell, Ricky's value drops more because that signals his time here is coming to an end. That would end up probably costing us more assets to maybe get the second guy Flip would want. I just don't see Flip taking that kind of risk. Too much would have to go right for it to work out.

Re: Potential Draft Deals
After we take Towns, the most interesting draft day deal for me is which veteran backup PG do we acquire via trade?
Yeah, maybe we draft a PG, but I seriously doubt Flip goes into the season with a rookie PG as his primary backup! And while that vet PG might come via free agency, the first, and possibly best, opportunity will come on draft day.

Flip could very well run the LaVine experiment again for all we know.
