Royce White will play for the Clippers during the Orlando Summer League.
A few other teams showed interest in White but he opted to play for L.A., whose executives have reportedly gained his trust in recent weeks. He hopes to earn a contract after Summer League but it's far from certain that the 24-year-old will be on an active NBA roster when the season starts.
Royce White Update
Re: Royce White Update
It would be a good story if he end up on a nba team next season. The guy has talent. Could be a draymond green type of player.

I wonder if Chicago showed any interest bc of the Hoiberg ISU connection?

Great question, ff. You would certainly think so, since Royce was so successful playing there. If Fred doesn't think he is worth the headaches, I don't see him having much of a chance at all.

Re: Royce White Update
It's time to talk frankly about Royce White:
He's deceitful.
He went to half the high schools in Hennepin County because of his propensity for petty theft. And if he would have FLAT OUT told former Eagan resident Darryl Morrey (or any other GM) that he refused to fly, he wouldn't have been drafted. But if he does that, no guaranteed NBA money, and it's not like he was going to duplicate that income by sitting on the board at 3M.
He will be summer league roster filler for a few more years, and then he will be forgotten.
He is a great player. Great at De La Salle. Great at Hopkins. Great at ISU (where strangely enough, he flew). But he blew it.
.....And can someone explain to me what exactly the plan was? The NBA was going to let HOU play every game at home because the one guy didn't want to be inconvienced? Seems like that might be a slippery slope.

He's also conveniently making his come back now that his rookie deal is up and he's no longer getting paid. He never made an honest effort to even make it work, got paid a couple million over 3 years and now he's gonna try to show someone just enough to land another deal.
