Not sucks, just not a winning player. I stand by that. Till proven otherwise. Just like Pek , just like Martin.

And next year well be sitting here thinking it's crazy to trade any of them for a completely different reason. Becuz they have no value.

The Mavs are pretty incredible. They always seem to be able to piece together a pretty damn good squad. Kudos to them for staying competitive for a long, long time. I know a lot of folks feel like a team needs to be in "championship or bust" mode, but after a decade of losing, I can appreciate teams like Memphis and Dallas that string together multiple years of good, competitive play (and Dallas did win a title a few years ago). It's nice to be a fan of a team that year-in and year-out wins more games than it loses.

@daldridgetnt: So this is how the Deron Williams would potentially work for both sides: Williams is due around $43.3M for (cont) http://t.co/Urtd14ASjN

Nets one way or another may get rid of Deron Williams and Dallas could get him. He isn't all that good but I don't think the Mavs are gonna pay him big bucks and he doesn't have to be amazing for them to be plenty worthwhile.

Deron Williams is a bit of a malcontent though, so you are basically reintroducing a Rondoesque aspect back into your team. Granted, Williams has more offensive talent than Rondo and when healthy is very good, but he hasn't been for years and you have to wonder if team chemistry will be a problem if he becomes disgruntled when Carlisle gets on him for not playing defense or benches him for shooting 30%, which is why Rondo was benched a lot.

I should add that I do think he is an upgrade over what they had last year if healthy, and if they don't have to pay him millions.

Good job by dallas if they are to sign d-will. That is a good consolation prize after jordan go back on his word. It's a lot less expensive also and ensure they will still have max cap space next year and more.

! thing you have to admire about dallas is that they are a legit free agent destination. Imagine if jordan didn't chicken out. Dallas would have had added jordan, mathews and dwill with max space next year. They are a team that stays competitive every year while also having max space every summer to target a top flight free agent. Cuban has done well managing their cap and building thru free agency.
