I would jump at the chance for Lance for Martin, but I think he is going to get around 10 mil a season and I am OK with that. We can't expect to get the perfect player to come here. I would take the Gordon for Pek move that was mentioned as well, but would not be willing to give up the #13 for Anderson even if they were taking back Bud. I think we have to proceed on the premise that Love is going to leave so I am more interested in bringing in younger players with our picks at this point.

Depends what the market for him is. Reports are that his antics have started to scare teams off. If that is true then Martin may be the kind of value Indy can get if they do not want to keep him. Indy's only concern is winning a championship so they will want the best veteran to step in and help them win. Martin proved that he can fit in with a winning team like with OKC. Its impossible to say what offers might be out there right now but I don't see it as that much of a longshot if reports are true.

I think ultimately Lance's talent will win out and if Indiana makes him available teams will be trying pretty hard with pretty good sized offers to get him. The Bucks paid Mayo 8 million per last year on a 3 year deal and Lance is a much more intriguing player in every way I can possibly think of. Bird has been a huge supporter of him all this time I have doubts that because Lance did some stupid stuff Larry is gonna just let him walk. Larry is pretty legendary for being a trashtalker back in the day and had a kind of a weird family background which maybe is partly why he relates to Lance. I think when the Pacers take a step back and consider everything they offer a contract and Lance signs.

I still stick by my choice of hayward over lance. If lance could be had for martin, il offer lance to utah along with pek for a sign and trade hayward and kanter.

Hayward can be the secondary ball handler to rubio and at the same time is very good off the ball as well. Making him a much better fit next to rubio over lance. Hayward is not bad defensively as well.

If love needs to be traded, trade him and bud to cavs for number 1 pick, varejao, tristan and bennet. Draft wiggins at one. Then offer varejao's expiring plus tristan or bennet to lakers in a sign and trade for gasol(2-3yrs deal). Varejao is an expiring, preserving lakers cap space in 2015 and be a useful player for the lakers for a season and tristan and or bennet gives them a youn player to groom.

Too many moving parts for that to be realistic, though. I think Indy could just try to get Hayward themselves for Stephenson if both are actually available.

Also, I'd still push really hard for Waiters in a CLE deal. They can keep AV and AB.

Lance Stephenson is just what this team needs. Young wing that plays defense, can handle the ball, improving 3pt shot, and can rebound. We desperately need his attitude on this team. We just can't afford a coach that can't get the most out of him. If you can trade Kevin Martin for him it is a no brainer.
