Yeah, I don't want Love coming back out West. Hell, the Wolves are just trying to get back into the playoffs for the first time in over a decade. The last thing we need is for a relatively weak West team like LA to get strong again....although I guess it's just a matter of time.

Yeah you guys are scaring me. Forgot about Randle too. But realistically, it's almost impossible for the Lakers to not re-emerge as a power with the cap going up so much. No one should benefit more than them. It's nice to see the Spurs appear to be making room for LMA. That's one nice piece the Lakers wouldn't get. But there is always going to be some great player who will be willing to go there. At least with Love you have the chance of him missing significant time.

Yep that's true about Love maybe getting hurt. I don't think Love goes to the Lakers unless they somehow add a ton to be able to win. Love may not be able to have his cake and eat it too (better role and win) but I think he would rather stay in the east with Lebron and the Cavs and take his chances he will get a better role.

What an amazing journey for Carroll. Dude is getting seriously paid and for a team/organization and coach that seem to me will value him. I am happy for the guy it's a good story.

Khris Middleton - 5 years 70 million?? really?? He averaged 13 pts, 4 rebs, 3 assists last year, and that was with Jabari out for the majority of the season.

Anthony Davis - $29 million a year, holy hell. If everyone is getting paid, he deserves the most, but still...

Danny Green's 4 year 45mil is too much for a 3 and D guy. Yeah he's good at it, but he's getting paid like one of the big 3 did all those years in SA.

Brook Lopez - Will wind up being the worst deal. The nets would be smart to send him off to FA and see if anyone will even touch him. $20mil a year for him amounts to about $1mil per game.

Thad Young - Nets pay themselves into oblivion. When will they realize they need to stop paying 3rd tier guys like 1st tier guys and go into complete overhaul??

We can't compare today's salaries with yesterday's salaries.

The cap is going up $20+M next season. We've already seen escalating salaries even though the previous highest jump was $7M. These teams can offer these larger-than-we'd-think contracts and still have room for one or even 2 Max guys next season.

It's fine to compare these new contracts to each other... but it's comparing apples to oranges if we're using previous contracts as a guide.

I bet he resigns with the Cavs. I wish he'd come out West, so we'd face more of his soft defense.

Do you think it is important for the Wolves to show dramatic improvement this year so we can attract our own max guy next year?

Actually, that's a major bargain when the new cap hits. Green is getting only 10.1 million a year and guys like Thad Young, Khris Middleton and our own Pek are getting paid more. Broussard said "Green commanded a ton of interest from teams such as the Kings, Pistons, Mavericks and Knicks, and he probably could have gotten a lot more money if he wanted to."

AGREED. Lets keep seeing stars staying in the East and some moving over from the West. I hope Monroe goes to the Knicks so he stays out of the West too (Portland after him).
