I agree with your sentiment, but I think AB is also overpaid. Here's what Hoopshype lists as his salary for next 3 years (if we kept him): $5,803,560 $7,318,289 $9,513,775

I don't count the rookie scale contracts, as they were dictated by the last agreement. It only becomes overpaid if we pick up the option.

Gilbert is really swinging for the fences if this is the case, though I still question why on earth they resigned Andy to begin with. That was a stupid deal that becomes a slap in the face.

AV is worth his contract if healthy. Problem is he can't stay healthy. Lebron Loves AV so that was a BIG factor as well. Also at thebtime the Cavs didn't have many options at the center spot so yeah.

Getting Joe Johnson would be pretty huge. He can still play and is a really versatile player. I can see him fitting in well with the other players on the team.

Whoa! The Spurs are reaping the benefits of having such a respectable organization. West should be a key player for them for next to nothing.

EIther West truly wants to win a title, or he should immediately fire his agent. Didn't he opt out of an 8 figure salary?

Dude wants to win. No doubt about it. He definitely could have gotten 10 for even a couple 2 or 3 years elsewhere in this market.

I would have been excited to see the wolves throw him an offer. I think he is another guy that can set a good example for younger players. I wish he had been healthier in earlier years.

Still worried about the Spurs back court. If Parker doesn't return to form, it puts a lot of pressure on Patty Mills. You still need players that can make lemonade when "the system" doesn't yield a quality shot.

(although Dallas was able to win a title with most of their strength in the front court a few years ago. LMA is sort of similar in that he can always get a mid-range shot off from anywhere because of his length and high release point. But Dirk....he was ON FIRE that year).

Just saw that Manu is coming back for the Spurs. I think that back court will be fine Q.

Manu is not getting any younger. He can hardly play 20 MPG anymore, so while I still see him as being an effective backup, I just can't see him conjure up the same crunch-time magic anymore.
