Wonder if there would be a trade market for Pek with either LA team?

That is interesting, what do the clips have though to offer us

Nothing really. An expiring contract would work for me.

I am not going to pin this all on TRKO, because he is not the first to do this, but what is the rush to give away Pek?

I say play this year with the "Core 11" (Dieng/Pek/KG/KAT/Bazz/Bjellica/Wiggins/KMart/BlondRicky/Lavine/Jones). If they play well, they can recruit F/A's with the jump in cap space and the Bennett/Budinger/Hummel/(and please Lord)Payne salary space.

If they stink, at least they get to keep their pick, and if Pek stays healthy, they can move him then. But if Flip gives a team a pick to take Pek, and he kicks butt, along with that super neato Payne deal, he is going to look as bad as that one NY article about Bjellica says he is.

I agree here I wouldn't add a pick with pek, and think he can be a damn good backup but with his injury history of they get something of value like a first or a young player I strongly consider

The reason I trade Pek is that we have Towns and Dieng at the C position. If there is a market to move Pek, who is injury plagued, I would do it. It could bite us in the butt if he is healthy, but history tells us that's not probable. Getting out of his contract gives us future flexibility. That's if teams would even be interested.

I don't think anyone wants to pay to get rid of Pek. I am one of his biggest fans but if a team wanted to take him off our hands for nothing I would consider it. I am not in a big hurry to get rid of him either but him staying healthy seems fairly unlikely. Don't worry though nobody is gonna want to trade for him right now. Hibbert is the rumor fallback option.

For the record I would not add anything to trade Pek. I wouldn't mind dumping his salary, but I'm not trading away assets to get rid of him.

When talking about Centers it will be interesting to see how much Koufus will sign for. If you can lock him in at the right price do that and start him. I don't think the gap between him and say Hibbert is that different.

Fair enough. But the Lakers don't have anyone under contract to trade for him, and the Clippers are over the cap, so that means MIN would have to take back $10m to $15m based on Pek's salary. I don't see $10m to $15m of anything on the Clipper's roster that they would honestly part with that is worthwhile.

I see this as a "Go out and win" year instead of a "Tank" year. If injuries wreck that, at least Flip doesn't have to explain why he traded a 1st for Payne, but they should still be trying, and Pek should be a part of that.

I don't see this as a win year for us with our two main players being under 21. I see us having another developmental year. If we were in the East I would gear up for the playoffs. We aren't though.
