You forgot AB and the guy we got in the Bud trade. There's 1 roster spot open at this point.
I didn't forget about them. I don't think either is a lock to make our final roster and I hope we can do better than AB and Rudez. I even like LoBrown's chances over those two unless we sign a veteran point guard. Rudez is old and he's a one trick pony and AB is just bad on both sides of the ball, plus he has a bad contract. Curry is younger and has a more diverse game--even if he is used as a spot 3 point specialist.
The funny thing is Rudez has proven more at the NBA level than any of those guys.

They just aren't going to pay AB 6 million to not play for them by cutting him. That's just not an option. So unless he gets traded he is a lock for the final roster and I doubt the Pan Am games are enough to both make him look like a good trade asset while simultaneously keeping our front office of the opinion he should be dealt.

Different situations but the money issue is the same as JJ last year. You are paying AB either way of they cut him and pay someone 1 million more or whatever that is on the roster that's just 1 million more.
As for the Pan Am games they probably won't matter either but if AB looks worthless in both the Pan Am Games and FIFA maybe that could signal that he doesn't make the roster. I won't say his roster spot is open but it's not a lock either. Someone probably has to take it by showing something though unless Bennett looks really bad which I doubt happens.

We have an open roster spot and the guy we got for Bud costs way less to cut. Why would we ever need to open up a third roster spot at the cost of 6 million dollars plus the guy we would bring in? I find it very hard to believe that we are still looking for 3 players not currently on the roster. Do you really think the guy we got for Bud is worth keeping at the cost of a minimum of 7 million dollars that would result in cutting AB and signing another guy? I don't care how bad Bennett is, would you rather pay 7 million instead of 3 if you had the choice?

Glen is paying Bennett's 6 million either way. If they cut Rudez in your scenario they are paying extra money for another guy also. If Bennett actuly gets cut that means he kinda sucks. I have been saying for a couple months it's a possible that Bennett gets cut or bought out scenario but I don't think it happens. Like I said in another post on this forum that might actually be a good thing for Bennett and his career so that COULD be another reason why they let him go.
I absolutely agree with you there isn't 3 open roster spots right now. 1.5 at most really.
The Kings and FA Seth Curry have agreed on a two-year, $2 million deal.
Sacramento is "closing in on a deal," according to Marc Stein, and it sounds like Seth Curry may be playing in the same division as his MVP brother. Curry was voted to the Summer League's 'First Team' after averaging an impressive 24.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 3.2 steals and 1.5 turnovers in 33.1 minutes over six games.
