I'm with Khans. If there is a ton of injuries, then let Lavine take his lumps.

There are other guys that have multi year deals on the Sixers that were 2nd rounders. I would assume they like having team options on every year that may have been what rubbed McDanis the wrong way? Not that this really matter why donee end up talking about the Sixers about as much as any team on this board besides the Wolves? lol

I love KJ McDaniels but he's on Houston's roster. I probably like him a bit more than GR3 even, but give each of them a couple years to develop and I think they are solid rotational guys that can help on both sides of the ball. On another note, we really need a D League affiliate.
If Glenn was named Gary Robertson and didn't have the big dog for his father is there even a conversation to find him playing time? He was a glue guy in college who was not impressive in any particular way. What about that says NBA rotation guy?
GR3 has incredible athleticism and some found fault with his unselfish play (as some labeled him too passive) and that's why he slid from a top ten player to the second round. I actually like his unselfish play for a good glue guy. He's only been in the NBA one season and had hardly any real minutes to develop. He should have been in the D League developing his game. Now, if AB hadn't been taken first overall, would anyone even give him another look after two really bad years in the NBA?

Tyus, Lavine and Wiggins. If Bud's still on the team he would get some minutes at the two as well. I would also bet NB can initiate the offense as a point forward. If Ricky and Martin go down we aren't winning games anyway so we'd go the development route with our young guys. If one more guy got hurt (bringing the total to 3) I believe we could get an injury exception to bring in another guard as well.
I'd prefer to leave LaVine off the ball and have a 3rd PG on the roster. He played a ton better when LoBrown was running things.
Is Lo Brown as the emergency PG worth dumping anyone not named Hummel? I don't think so. We're better off playing Lavine out of position again so we can develop the other guys on the roster. We aren't going to be winning with Tyus as the starting PG anyway. Why are we talking so much about making moves for fit that only come into play if we have injuries? If we have injuries again we aren't winning so we just need to bite the bullet again and continue to develop players.
Because I actually think it's best for LaVine's development (and Towns, and Wiggins, etc.) to have a real PG running things. When LaVine ran the point, not only did it take him away from being the potential scorer I think he could become, but it also stunted everyone else's growth because he didn't know how to run an offense. That's why.

Of course they would be giving him another look...guys like Lou Amundson continue to get looks, and he can't carry AB's jockstrap. Any GM familiar with how AB played at UNLV has to be intrigued with his potential, even after two injury-plagued seasons.

Tyus will still be getting most of the PG minutes. We're talking maybe 18 MPG's with Lavine at PG with mostly the backups. So he shouldn't be affecting Wiggins or Towns' development in any significant way. You put Lavine with Martin, Bazz, NB and Pek and he won't have to have that much of a role running the offense because they are all capable offensive players in their own right.

Regardless, I still think we need a 3rd PG whose taken a couple of laps around the league or D-league, whether it's LoBrow or someone else.

LaVine and Jones divide the PG minutes. The SG minutes get divided among LaVine, Shabazz and Wiggins. I see Shabazz more as a SF and even a PF in a small-ball lineup, but Flip has talked about playing him at SG. I also see Wiggins as more of a SF than SG, but I can see him at the SF position. And don't forget Bjelica's point forward reputation. Finally, Flip can always pick up up a D-League PG if necessary mid-season.

How about we let the injuries actually hit before we start using words like "need" when talking about a 3rd PG?
