I still think Lore and Rodriguez will end up buying the team. But Glen isn't going to make it easy. I wish he would see that he needs to move on if he really wants to salvage this franchise for Minnesota. Lore and A-Rod would be the perfect new owners for this team. Glen is making a unbelievably gigantic profit for his estate from the sale. Just go gracefully, Glen!

Glen doesn't get the benefit of the doubt but I would like to know what the sticking points are before ripping him. I wonder if Glen was a little concerned/pissed off when their public statements about buying the team didn't include the Lynx. Glen has been incredibly supportive of the Lynx franchise (which is also a winning franchise) and always was adamant they were equal footing with the Wolves in many ways. As I have said before I think that the Lynx included in this sale could end up being a low key value as part of the deal. If new ownership ended up being kind of dismissive of that franchise would be a mistake for a number of reasons.

I doubt that is is the biggest sticking point though. My guess is they want to take over sooner than 2 years from now or whatever was reported. I thought that was kinda weird at the time. If other prospective ownership groups come in hot with some offers that could move this thing along as both sides can see other groups are willing to pay whatever price for the franchises and possibly meet whatever other things Glen wants in place.

I could see if the JLO Arod breakup was something that happened during this period (could have also been likely happening for a while) I could see how maybe that could have been a factor in talks not being completed. You would have thought they would have worked out a new negotiation window though of that were the case. Like you Lip I still expect this deal to go through but we will see.

Yeah. I wouldn't want to jump in on it being Glen's fault without knowing any details.

Heck, maybe Lore is backtracking on keeping the team in MN... we have no way of knowing for sure. So we have to wait and let it play out.

I don't have a subscription to the Star Tribune, but a headline says a deal was in place as of 15 minutes ago.

Looks like Shams Charania tweeted it about an hour ago.

Looks like Glen may not have botched it after all.

Good stuff, I really think we might be seeing a turning point for this franchise. I don't think we'll be suddenly contending next season or anything, but I do feel like new ownership will bring in new expectations and a change in culture. That combined with some glimmers of hope from the current coaching staff/players may lead to a better product on the floor.

When I first heard the news I was overjoyed, I thought "I can fully be a Wolves fan again!!!". But then I realized the deal was not sealed yet and figured glen would find some way to screw it up (wasn't completely wrong...)

Thankfully the deal is set now and I can actually believe the Wolves will be consistently competitive one day and maybe, just maybe, win a championship ***gasp**
