Settle wants the NBA back and I see Alex Rodriguez returning to Seattle as the conquering hero who brings back an NBA franchise to his former home. Otherwise I don't understand why he'd be part of owning an NBA team. He's not the money guy. Instead he's partnering with a billionaire to obtain partial ownership over an NBA franchise. Why would he be interested in owning a team based on Minnesota where he has absolutely no connection?
I'll say this much: Glen's been waiting for a Minnesota savior to come in and love the team the way he does and put in the money to keep Glen's baby here. He's been waiting for years. That ownership group wasn't coming. All those Fortune 500 companies in the state and nobody stepped forward. The golden parachute wasn't there. If they leave, they leave, and Glen is fully to blame for that.
As for the Seattle angle, A-Rod hasn't had a Seattle connection of any kind in 2 decades. It would be easier to convince anyone that he'd move the team to Vegas (and he's an East Coast guy; both of them are. I don't know how much he'd be up for flying across the country from Miami to Seattle all the time. If you're wondering why A-Rod would buy the team, you kinda answered why everyone hasn't.
