If the Wolves keep the first pick who do you think they will take?

#1 - his quick jump abilities. He has a wicked quick jump which is unusual for someone his size. Reminds me a bit of a young DeAndre Jordan with how fast he can get up and dunk with minimal gather.

#2 - He has excellent straight-line speed and should be able to keep up with most 4's and certainly outrun most NBA 5's.

#3 - Has good footwork and body control around the basket.

He also knows how to get into a defensive stance on the perimeter. I do think he has a lot of work to do on that end of the floor still.

Offensively, he's going to be super efficient because of how he can attack the rim and make such an easy target for any PG worth his salt. He'll also get a lot of easy putback slams. He shows potential from outside with decent form and pretty fluid release. I think where he's still pretty raw is his passing.

But let's face it, offensive creation is going to be the last thing he's asked to do if he joins either the Wolves or Golden State (I'm assuming he doesn't get past them). But I do think he shows the potential to blossom in this area in the years to come. It just won't happen right away.

Honestly, my bigger concern is defense. While he has massive upside in this area, he is another one of these athletic bigs whose natural hops and quickness will work against him in the NBA, where staying square, staying on one's feet, and staying disciplined are keys to effectiveness. He's a long ways off.

I agree with you about his passing. I've been more intrigued with his ability to put the ball on the floor than I had been.

So for you the hesitation with Wiseman on defense (And maybe as a prospect in general) is whether or not he gets it defensively and/or how long it takes him to get there? You don't question his physical ability including guarding quicker players in space? Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Defensively he may be off course.. I think that goes for most of the top targets. Of the top targets, I view him as the earliest contributor.

I voted other, believing the Wolves will draft Ball. But I'm jaded after years of bad Wolves draft decisions. Wiseman is the logical choice in my view if the Wolves front office, after thorough due diligence, is convinced that the reports questioning Wiseman's motor or passion for the game are baseless. Drafting Ball makes little sense. He'd be another poor perimeter shooter who has more questions about his motor than Wiseman. I hope Cam is right that Rosas is a smart basketball guy. But we'll see.

I'd change to Edwards, mostly because literally no one outside of our bubble here thinks they will take Wiseman and Ball makes less sense than Edwards. I think I'm going to puke with disgust on draft night, but may be Rosas will surprise us.
