Kinda missing the Lip game report these last two games!

Thibs really needs to install some sets where KAT or even Saric get the ball up top or at the elbows and then we run action from there. Both these guys can pass. We can't continually rely on Teague high pick and rolls and isolation post-ups for our offense! We saw what happened in the 2nd half with that approach.

Same they are awesome but we are 2-0 with him away. He is putting to much pressure on thibs, all lips fault :)

- Wes Johnson played 30 minutes. Julius Randle played 14 minutes. Anybody with insight into why?

They play completely different positions, so I think it's as simple as Randle being stuck behind Mirotic and one of the best players in the league and NO needing Wes to play lots of minutes at the wing

It's only one game. I hope this trade goes how the cousins trade went for the pelicans last. Allow our franchise player reinsert his dominance, surrounded him around shooters and lets play. Even though Butler and Cousins are more individually more talented then guys that were revived in trades. The system and a clear pecking order could vault us into a better team.

With that said it is only 1 game with the new guys and 2 games without butler. The thing that gives me hope, Kat has got his mojo back and he has made strides on D

Its going to be interesting to see what will happen to the 4q dynamics when rose gets back. We tried to run iso teague, but it didn't work. We git better when kat and wiggs became more involved. Will thibs go back to rose and teague iso ball in the 4th with kat screening and wiggs or roco camped at the 3 pt line?

They just lack wings with size. Wes is their only wing that isn't undersized to match up with wiggins. They could get away with putting moore on cov because he isn't a threat to post up or attack inside.

I'm not saying that they play the same position.

But Randle came in averaging 26 minutes... he played 14. Wes Johnson came in averaging 19 minutes... he played 30.

It might have just been that Randle sucked balls yesterday. He had 5 TOs and 4 fouls in those season-low 14 minutes. It was easily his worst game of the season.

He was hunting bad shots out there too while not involving his teammates at all. Looked a lot like Bazz yesterday.

I just finished watching this game and going back through Twitter. A few thoughts before I read the game thread.

With Rose out having Saric on the 2 unit since he is more of a creator makes sense. He played well and was a good matchup on Randle.

One of the biggest things that stood out in this game was Saric and Covington next to Towns...those guy are tall. Covington adds something in the boards and man it's nice to have a starter that has the ability to knock dowm some 3's when you need them.

Towns defense WOW. The whole team actually was pretty goood but man that was awesome.

Wiggins is maddening but the guy had a number of effort plays throughout the game.

Okogie that's my guy.

Tolliver was the guy out of the rotation. It looked like he was going to come in for Dieng later in the game but then they brought in Towns. Dieng is flawed but I thought he was ok.

Fun game things bogged down but the response after the Pels went up in the game was really wonderful to see. Wiggins made some winning plays.
