I agree that asset management has historically been bad. We had a stretch where we had the 6th, 4th and 2nd pick and we got ourselves the young core of johnny flynn, wes johnson and derrick williams. Yikes.

Absolutely right. As I've said in other posts, this was primarily a "win-now" move to give Thibodeau one last shot at saving his job. If this team is really struggling at the end of January, then I could see the Wolves trading players like Taj and Tolliver at the deadline. I think both would be attractive assets to a playoff-bound team and I could see getting a late first round pick or at least a couple second round picks for one or both.

I guess it's a good thing those numbers have actual names attached to them who play basketball and so far the results have been underwhelming for the numbers relative to the names in your post.

Lip it's also far to Say these moves are also for whoever coaches this team next season to actually win some games. Side note: If you buy into the idea that Thibs does whatever the hell he wants do you really think he is trying to save his job now? It's not like we did one of those Bucks trades from years ago where they gave up assets for expiring vets like Redick or Caron Butler (and a warm homecoming lol) so they could get that 8th playoff spot. These moves help you win games the next couple years.

He's not going to keep shooting 48.0% from 3P-range. That much is for certain. And his PPG total is also guaranteed to come back to earth. I'd expect him to end up around 12-15 PPG by season's end, assuming he stays relatively healthy and does his best to play within himself. I agree with others, though. He's been decent for the Wolves this year. Far from the MVP or All-Star version of himself, obviously, but this version of him has some value in the league.
PS: I would totally be okay with dealing him if it meant either getting back a young, productive guard (limited upside) or some sort of quality draft pick compensation (low first-round pick or assumed high second-round pick).
