How nice would that have been had we got him? I highly doubt the idiot in charge even thought of that. I knew Jimmy wasn't going to work out. They had to move him before the draft, not wait till he blows up during the season.
I like RoCo a lot but I'd rather have Luka, duh.
Sure. I still don't think trading Jimmy would have gotten us a chance at Luka. People are generally not high on Culver but if he turns to be the player the Wolves seem to think he will be then...we will have ended up with a really good young player we would have wanted to get by trading Butler for a draft pick ESPECIALLY now that we know he basically wanted out before that draft. Yes we had to use our draft pick this year but we all have Covington too. Only time will tell.
For example of how unpredictable things can be...Who would have thought a couple years ago Lamelo Ball would be getting hype as a top 5 pick? Not me. Jarrett Culver top 10 pick in the 2019 NBA draft 2 years ago? Wait?!? Who?!?!
I think my proposal was our 1st and Jimmy for a top 3 pick. Like I said, IDK if it would have worked or not, I certainly don't think trades were looked into before the draft though considering who we had running the team.
I heard 2-3 years ago that Lamelo was really the best of the 3. Before the draft of Lonzo or whatever. That was the talk I heard. IDK. I didn't watch him play at all myself, just heard that.
Culver doesn't have real elite athletic talent, so I'm not sure about his potential either. They say he's a very hard worker though, basically the antithesis of Wiggins. Plays hard, works hard. Solid fundamentals. We'll see.
