Great performance from Gorgui last night. He was doing all the little things that he does so well -- drawing charges, tracking down loose balls, challenging shots, etc. And his mid-range shooting stroke was back as well.

Tyus Jones was terrific again. He's definitely a starting caliber PG and right now I'd say he's clearly the best PG on our roster.

Wiggins had a very good game. I'm not particularly impressed with his 28 points since most of them came from mid to long-range twos. But I am glad he was hitting his shots last night. His scoring was critical. If he put up scoring numbers like the night before, we probably would have lost last night. It was his 7 rebounds, 5 assists and his overall hustle on defense that really impressed me. That's the Wiggins we need to see consistently. As for his scoring, he took and made wide open threes without hesitation and I liked that. He also hit all 5 of his free throws, which was a breakthrough for him.

Although KAT saw limited action because of foul trouble, he did grab 10 rebounds to go with 11 points in his limited 21 minutes.

I agree with you tyus has been terrific, I just want to say he has matched up against Ulis, Frazier and rondo all bottom 1/4 starting pgs. Will be super interested to see how he plays if he starts on Friday against Westbrook.

But tyus has earned minutes that is for sure

Yeah, Gorgs came up big for us last night. We really needed that from him after a pretty underwhelming start to the season.

Lip, I am impressed by Tyus, but let's not crown him our best PG on the roster quite yet. He hasn't exactly faced the stiffest of competition these last few games (he was guarding Rondo, who really doesn't look to score much). That being said, it's nice to see that we have a very capable backup PG, who may be could be our eventual starter if Teague ever leaves.

Wiggins had a great game last night. Unfortunately, these types of efficient, all-around outings are few and far between for him. Now if he starts doing this once every two or three games instead of every nine or ten games, we have an actual all-star on our hands.

Can't complain about Wiggins output last night. He hit his shots. He made some passes. He got a few rebounds. And a block. He played well.

But is it sustainable?

I will continue to argue that the TYPES of shots he is taking is simply not sustainable for efficiency. He hit that turnaround 20-foot jumper yesterday... but I called it 4 seconds before he took it. It looks awesome... in part because of the degree of difficulty. And Jordan and Bryant had it in their arsenals... in a completely different type of NBA. But why use it as a go-to move when you (and your coach) KNOWS it's not a good shot?

Ugh.

[Note: Agree about Tyus Jones. He knows how to play. He's savvy. And better defensively than anybody expected. But to crown him better than Teague who has hundreds of solid to good to very good games under his belt is a bit of a disservice at this point. Good signs moving forward though...]

Yeah, love seeing Wigs taking confident 3's in volume. To me, that is and almost always has been the key to him eventually being an efficient player. Hit your 3's in volume at 35%+. He's not there yet. May be some day....But the forced mid-range turnarounds are just awful shots. They went in last night, but most nights it's a low-percentage shot that teams would looooooove for him to take.

Thibs feeds into this tendency by isolating Wigs against supposed mis-matches. The worst is when it's a short player mis-match. Unlike Butler, who has the strength to back down and basically bully-ball small guys in the paint for easy lay-ins, Andrew ALWAYS opts for the mid-range turnaround or mid-range jump hook. Yes, he can get the shot off. No, they aren't high-percentage looks. To your point, this isn't the 1990s or 2000s. We are in a different era....

Nice win...I watched the Gopher game instead so didn't see much after Davis was ejected, but the outcome seemed secure at that point. Like Q, I'll give Thibs some credit for this win...his rotations were much better, and he actually played his bench a respectable 71 minutes. And look...we actually won a 4th quarter!

Box score tells me everyone played well...nice to see. We're back on pace for 50 wins, a goal I think is reasonable if Thibs stays out of the way!

Nice win with KAT limited in minutes and Tyus running the show again. Anthony Davis gave us a gift, but a win is a win.

Finally watched the rest of this game.

One thing that wasn't mentioned is that Town has been getting pushed around and sometimes other big players have gotten into his head. Tonight he was playing AD physical and shockingly AD went ballistic. Of course Towns ended up being in foul trouble and because of Dieng playing like a pretty good starting level player we ran away from this game. AD and Town almost canceled each other out. Honestly I'd take that pretty much every night.

The multi effort on defense in this game really ramped up. Yes Miller was left open for some 3's but at times guys were everywhere running guys off the line etc. Dieng was absolutely terrific and Tyus continues to impress defensively. There was one possession he was in the piant and then rotated out and flew out to Dante who was getting up a relatively easy short baseline jumper and Tyus ended up with a hand at the level of the ball when he shot it and it had to affect the shot which clanked off the rim. It was a play that you would expect from Dunn but Tyus made it although if it was Dunn he probably would have blocked Dante. lol

This was a fun game the Wolves had alot of things working and had the ball moving as well.

Interesting Bazz didn't get in at all. I'm not complaining (not surprised either) and interesting that in garbage time MGH got a little run.

This was Brooks best game (not saying much0. He isn't the best but he had some nice moments and he looked more comfortable offensively anyway. He is at least a 3 point threat. Defensively...that is liekly the reason he only played 7 mins.

As for the minutes thing. I don't really have a problem with it with other guys out. If Dieng and Tyus keep play well the minutes for some other players will come down. Dieng playing well is a key to both being successful and maybe playing Belly some 3. I still think they are gonna take things easy with Belly's minutes though.

+1 Lip.

I think Gorgui took his match up against Demarcus very personal last night and what impressed me most was how composed he kept himself after Cousins continually baited him with flops and theatrics.

That was the Gorgui we all knew and loved last season. Hopefully he has found himself again as he is a vital cog in this teams engine. When's he taking and hitting that long 2 (one of the few players who should be allowed to shoot it) he draws the opposition bigs away from the paint and gives KAT and Taj more space to operate down low.

Tyus is fast becoming one of my favourite players. Just a hard working humble dude who plays with in his capabilities. He is also a smart defender and has picked up plenty of steals over the last few games (average 4pg over this last four games). He's also starting to hit his 3pt shot which this team desperately needs from him.

Wiggins has a great all round game as the stats show. But it's his defense that impressed me the most. The chase down block, the hussling on defense, the quick hands. If he can bring that every night he will be a top 10 player in this league.

The one concerning thing so far this season is the officiating. It seems the officials are letting players get away with a lot more contact than last season which is a major disadvantage to us considering how many players we have on this roster who should be shooting a lot more free throws - KAT especially. He continually gets hammered without calls. You can tell is frustrates him and gets in his head. Thibs mentioned it in one of his post game interviews, said he was going to discuss it with the NBA officiating panel.
