Flip said pretty recently that he's not too comfortable with G at the 4. Said he doesn't understand how to play in space against other 4s. If (hopefully) we do draft Stan the Man, I assume we'd roll out:

PG: Rubio / ___
SG: Wiggins / Martin
SF: Johnson / Muhammad
PF: Young / Bennett
C: Pekovic / Dieng

You could make an argument that we should trade Martin if we're just going to use him off the bench, but I actually think he'd be an extremely nice weapon to have and fits with the parts on that second unit rather well.

With a decent PG that second unit could be great! Martin and Bazz are going to get theirs, Dieng would be the better 5 on most nights. This team is closer to competing than their record would indicate, a couple good moves this offseason and they're a playoff team IMO.

No way Johnson should or would play in front of Bazz. We need a real 4 wayyyy before a back up 3.

I could see Johnson playing PF for us. He would likely be a better defender and rebounder then Young from day 1.

I agree. He and Williams need to go.

I won't guarantee anything, but I'd bet Johnson would be the starter. Game-changer defensively. Bazz would still get his minutes, but in a sixth man's role, which he's thrived in.

We need best talent available.

I read where Porzingis, while skilled, is slated as a small forward. Too skinny for the 4. This WOULD allow Wigs to play shooting guard. But really,a 7' wing?

Porzingis isn't a wing player. His game is definitely that of a PF/C type.

where did this idea come from that Towns has motor issues?

That goes against everything that has been touted about him since he was 15. If he had motor issues he wouldn't start at Kentucky. If he had motor issues he wouldn't be at Kentucky. If he had motor issues, John Calipari doesn't bother dealing with him and gives up recruiting him after 2-3 years. Towns is a ridiculously excellent prospect, but he's on a team with much higher goals than trying to show us whether we should pick him in particular. That team is deep and filled with talent. Calipari is trying to overwhelm teams with that talent. Towns isn't going to have the chance to have incredibly dominant games statistically, but man he makes an impact when he's out there.

and we NEED a PF. I don't wanna see Dieng play PF going forward.
