1) Make people pay more money to see a losing product
2) Leave his thuggerish past behind
3) Inject his DNA into guys like AB and Dieng to turn them into KG clones
4) Change the culture of a franchise (One that he helped build by the way)
5) Transition from trash talking player to master mentor
6) Use osmosis to make defenders out of even the least interested TWolves
7) Make us a tougher team even though his toughness was always a mirage (remember all those 4th quarter failures?)

So yeah, if he's going to walk down the Mississippi I don't want to miss it.

No chance of his walking on the Mississippi, but I have a nice view of Lake Calhoun out my living room window, and he could walk on that today!

Nice list Cool, KG the miracle worker!! All legitimate concerns, my only real worry is what kind of money Flip is going to pay him on his next 2 year deal. If he gives him any more than 4 or 5 per, than I'll be outraged! But until then I'll support it. I suspect KG will want much more than that.

I'm hoping for that too, Lloyd, but I'm also cognizant about Lip's thoughts about KG and money and think they will end up closer to 2 years for 13-14 million, provided he shows them something the rest of the year.. I think KG and Duncan should have similar deals, as they are about the same age and coming off of 12 and 10 million dollar deals, respectively. I'm sure both the Spurs and Wolves will be eyeing the other team's negotiations closely.

LST - He's by far the best player in franchise history, and many of us long-suffering fans can't help but look back with gratitude at the KG playoff years. (Again for the benefit of the younger members of this forum...the word "playoffs" refers to a series of NBA games played after the Wolves have completed their season).

Even some of us older fans needed a reminder of what the term "playoffs" means! Thanks for the refresh LST.

Except Duncan's led his team to two straight NBA Finals... No comparison there anymore.

True, but maybe more relevant is the fact that Duncan still plays 30 minutes a night. The more I think about it, Duncan deserves $2 million more per year. I'm guessing they end up about the same though, unless Timmy has a dominant post-season.

Duncan will probably only take somewhere around $10-11M per year because he sacrifices for the good of his team, but he's worth close to max money.

I can't even make an argument that KG is worth $10M a year. $5M per should be as much as he gets. He'll probably make somewhere in between those two numbers because -- well -- Flip Saunders.

My guy Bobby Portis takes the grand stage (ESPN) tonight at 9. More importantly, watch Arkansas' defense and try to come away not impressed. You can't do it. One of my sleeper teams going into March Madness.

He is the reason I wish we had the Heat pick. I really like his game.
