Draft prospects - Who do we want?

Declaring Wiggins' best position for his career now is dumb. He's 20 and he still has a lot of physical development in front of him. He can play either position so long term you can draft a 2 or 3 and he'll fit next to either just fine.

I feel Wiggins has been very good at SF. I think that position is fine for him. He can play both SF and SG. I think Russell is the best player in this draft and would play great in between Rubio and Wiggins. Russell can do it all on offense, and I feel he has the ability to develop into a great two way player.

That's not what I'm saying. It's not about whether he can play it. It's about where he's best at. Don't confuse versatility with thinking a player has multiple primary positions. For example: Russell Westbrook could play SG, but that doesn't mean you go out and look for a PG to make sure Westbrook doesn't play the point.

I have decided on the big man front. I prefer Towns over Okafor. Still not sure about the backcourt players and how they stack up against the bigs, but if I had to rank a top 4 today:

1) Towns
2) Okafor
3) Mudiay
4) Russell

I think he can and has played equally well at both.

Right now I am thinking Russell is the best player in this draft. I don't see a fitment problem here. Even if LaVine blows up next year. There should be enough minutes at PG/SG to go around.

Martin could and should be shopped. I look at the biggs that the Rockets are getting by with and think we would be fine. Even look at the Thunder or Warriors.

If he truly was, his team wouldn't have been beaten by 24 points at home today. Best players in a given draft year don't allow that to happen.

I was actually going to bring up something related today. That Ohio St team, outside Russell, is pretty terrible. This is not a fair statement at all. There is certainly nothing historically that backs up your comment. There have been plenty of players that went on to have great careers that were on putrid teams. Also, IMO, Wisconsin is a final 4 team...if not a final 2. Ohio Stae, with or without Russell, is not in the same class.

I think if Russell is available he's my guy. It puts less pressure on Ricky needing to become more of a scorer. He can focus on being the great facilitater that he is and let the rest of the back court do the scoring. Anything from him would be a bonus . I say this expecting Martin to be gone and he was never the type to finish around the rim.. Russell is.

Little tidbit to throw in here: I like how Towns can dominate games without taking the ball out of other players' hands. He'll clean up the glass on both ends, impose his will (and freakish length) as a shot-blocker, play very good team defense as well as post defense (as of late he's using his lower body better; using his legs) and you know he'll keep the ball moving on offense. Best shot blocker (Turner has a case) and best passing big man in this draft. And his offense IS coming. He's shooting like 80% over his last 10 games or something. Most of those points come on o-reb, post ups and transition. I can only wonder what he'd be able to do with a competent PG who excels in P&R/P&P play (that's where Rubio comes in). He impacts every facet of the game. That's just special, and quite honestly, it's rare. Okafor can't do that. Russell can't do that. Mudiay can't do that either. I've said on here multiple times that there's only three NBA bigs that have similar skill-sets to Towns: M.Gasol, A.Davis and A.Horford. How do you pass on that?
