No, actually they won on the scoreboard last night. But anyone taking the long view has to see last night as a Cavs loss, because it highlighted the winner in the Love/Wiggins trade, which ultimately will determine the fate of these franchises. The injury-riddled Wolves are struggling and the Cavs are winning right now, but last night showed me that the Cavs are not built for the post-season...just not good enough defensively, even with Mozgov on the court. They are going to win their share of games because James will have nights like that, but this is not a championship team. For heavens sake, they had to pull out all the stops to beat a team that had a D-League guy playing 48 minutes at PG!

U could argue that they won despite their second best player ( Irving ) having an off nite while our best player had his best game of the year. They also won the other nite without LeBron playing.

As far as I see it, both teams are winners.. It's tough to see Wiggins getting a lot of touches out on the perimeter with that team.

Zip it up, LST. Ur Bias is showing again.

Yes, I fully admit to being biased against "super teams"...I think it cheapens the sport if players try to manufacture championships but joining forces in one town. I admire much more teams that win organically. I'll always root against the Cavs and any other "super teams".

But come on, pork...Irving having a bad game as an excuse for the Cavs? Our high scorer had a terrible game also, so that offsets their second highest scorer having an off night. But the Cavs came into the game healthy. while the Wolves were missing so many PG's (3, to be accurate) that they needed to have a D-Leaguer play the entire game! Not to mention the Wolves were missing their most potent scorer (Shabazz) and two of their best players are just back from several weeks off. Yeah, I am biased against the Cavs, but a true championship contender cakewalks through that game last night against the depleted wolves...and the Cavs don't defend well enough to be a contender.

Last night was an entertaining game. And everybody "won."

The legit NBA team with championship hopes (but probably not quite there yet) got a win. The team in rebuilding mode showcased its rookie gem, played competitively for 40 minutes in front of a rare large crowd and kept in the mix for a high draft pick.

Wiggins played great for 3 quarters. And the Wolves looked legit for a big spell in that game. But it was a typical NBA game during the 82-game grind. The Wolves are still a couple years away, so we'll see a lot of games like last night. The team will be able to compete for most of the game. But, when the good teams pour it on late... the Wolves won't have an answer.

It's often what separates good teams from bad teams... what they do when it gets serious. Minnesota's offense in the 4th was dreadful. Part of that was because of a D-League PG running things. Partly because Cleveland decided to put the clamps down a bit more defensively. It's the nature of the league.

Good teams pull away against bad teams. So, for as entertaining as it was, it was also pretty predictable by the end.

[Note: LeBron James is so good. I don't like him. But he's just so good.]

Nope. Never jumped ship. All those new pieces needed time to mesh. Then adding Mosgov, Smith and Shump was a power play. That's a damn good basketball team.

I don't think you're crazy, kek. The Cavs aren't going to catch the Hawks, so they're going to have to beat them in Atlanta...and the Hawks are an absurd 24-3 at home. Cleveland has the best player in the world, but Atlanta still looks like the best team in the East to me. I didn't see the game tonight, so I don't know if the Cavs finally played some solid defense or if the Clips just had a bad night. But the Cavs are going to have to show me that they can play consistently tough NBA-playoff defense before I jump on that bandwagon.

As long as Kevin Love is a Cav, you'll [lst] never jump on that bandwagon.

I know you are talking about LST, but I still think they have some holes on there roster, but they have the best player on the planet so they will always have a chance
