No question about that.

But maybe Taylor is thinking..."hmm...I just won the lottery! Clearly, when I really take charge, good things happen. You know, I'm going to call Hoiberg tonight and offer him the coaching job".

Come on, Glen...let out that inner Napoleon Complex and show Flip who the boss is!

Lst, I would love that to be the case. I can see flip fighting to retain the head coach gig though. Its about the ego. He needs and want to prove that he can turn this around, no way he wants to end his coaching career on a 16-66 record.

Yeah, no way is Flip releasing his grasp of the coaching reigns. In fact, his grip just got a lot tighter with the news tonight.

I think it would be tough to step away but if one of the guys Flip really wanted to take over called him up and said they wanted the job... I don't think anyone is going to make that call though but you can bet there are some coaches are pretty interested in where the Wolves are going at this point.

I agree with this. My initial thought was that the coaching position got more attractive too, but I definitely get the feeling that Flip wants to coach this team into an eventual winner.

Camden wrote:It's as simple as this. Flip's his own boss. Flip can empower himself for whatever job he wants. Flip wants to coach his golden boy Garnett as well as the roster he's assembled. Flip won't turn over the keys to the team without showing what he's built can be good. He wants the credit; he doesn't want the new coach to get the credit. Bingo.

We won't have a new coach until we're good for a whole year. My opinion after all that's happened.

I don't understand your first sentence, Cam. Flip is not his own boss...Glen is Flip's boss. And Glen didn't get to be a billionaire just on his good looks. He's a ruthless businessman who demands results, and has publicly stated that he wants Flip to just be PBO. You guys are 100% correct that Flip really wants to coach this team for at least one more year, but Glen is not of the same opinion as he has said several times. There's a power struggle going on here, and Glen holds ALL the cards. I still am inclined to think Flip coaches this year, but not because that is Glen's first choice. Glen may decide not to impose his will because he is giving Flip a pass due to all the injuries last season, or because he doesn't see any available coaches that really excite him. But don't think for a minute that there aren't going to be a lot of interesting, and perhaps heated, discussions going on at 601 1st Ave. N.

If I am a Hoiberg and wants to coach the Wolves. I am calling Taylor to let him know I have interest. If I am a coaches agent I am doing the same thing.

Okie doke. Keep holding out hope, but Flip isn't going anywhere.
