What did Kahn do for this team?

Cam is right!
Re: What did Kahn do for this team?
Just off the top of my head, here are some of the guys Kahn could have drafted. And I'm limiting my list to those that either I or many on this board would have taken at the time:
1. Curry instead of Flynn
2. Lawson instead of Webster
3. Cousins or Monroe instead of Wes Johnson
4. Faried or Chandler Parsons instead of Malcolm Lee and a small amount of cash
5. Jordan Crawford instead of Lazar Hayward.
Ok, that's enough rehash for me.

To me, you don't get extra credit for doing your job. When you draft a European player at 5, your job becomes getting him over here. When you have another high second round pick sitting in Europe your job is to get him over here. When you have a budding all-star, your job is to sign him to an extension (he gets even less credit on this one because just letting Love hit RFA would have resulted in a guaranteed 4th year which we don't have). Your job as the GM is to hire a good coach. Shortcomings to those are failures to perform your job, more than getting extra credit for doing what you are supposed to. Adelman came here because of the players in place, not because of Kahn. Who wouldn't take a big bag of money to coach Love and Rubio (anybody without a title would have taken the job)? Kahn gets credit for picking Ricky as any GM gets credit for making a good pick, but the rest in my mind is what he was supposed to do. I'm not going to praise him for doing what he was supposed to do. That is 1 plus in a sea of negatives. You know a GM is bad when people are praising him for doing what he was supposed to do in order to not be a complete failure. We were one of the worst teams in the league consistently with him at the helm. If he was any good, he wouldn't have been fired this offseason. Let's just get over him and look forward to the rest of this year.

Well said khans. I'm in agreement with you.

Khans, it almost seems like splitting hairs. It isn't extra credit, it is what he did and didn't do. He drafted very poorly, and messed around with Love on the contract. The positives that Tim mentioned were Kahn doing his job well. I think Kahn did a job at a C level in comparison to other GM's in the league. Flynn injuring his hip is the reason he isn't a serviceable player in this league. Was Curry better pick, absolutely, but there were plenty of questions about him coming our of a small college as well. I think Kahn's two biggest mistakes were Rambis and Wes.
Kahn took way more than his fair share of criticism for the job he did. I agree it is time to move on.
