Thank you Camden it's nice to see so done has common sense.

Now for Aldridge I honestly if the blazers offered him straight up for Love I would probably take that, Aldridge again has the higher PER and would fit with Rubio and Pek a lot better than Love., and Love doesn't seem overly excited about being here. Aldridge is also the better defender and just as good of a scorer the only thing we take a hit at is rebounds.

The most worthwhile comment in this entire thread came at the beginning by Cam - "I know this would almost never happen"

Agreed.

Riverside- if Love doesn't seem overly excited about being here, why would Aldridge be any more excited when he's unhappy about being in a better situation than this one?

Wolf - Portland is a better situation than Minnesota? You've got to be joking.

Timberwolves roster >> Blazers' roster
Timberwolves coach >> Blazers' coach
Minnesota fans > or = Portland fans
Minnesota as a place to live > or = Portland as a place to live

Please explain.

So let me get this straight. Blocks are the only thing that make a good defender right? Do you guys listen to yourselves? Chandler made a team that played zero defense into a top ten defense by covering up for everyone else at the rim. You guys define rim protectors by what they do in the blocks category when that is just part of it and it's not even the most important part. Chandler alters shots at the rim which is what matters. He plays great help defense. He covers up for everyone's mistakes and makes a team full of gunners respectable on the defensive end. The guy shoots 65% from the field, averages a double-double and transforms teams into respectable defenses. You put so much value into one on one defense that you overlook the team aspect of defense. Sure Pek is a good 1 on 1 defender, but he provides no help at the basket and doesn't help our team be a better team defense. We have Love and Martin to score, so I'm not worried about scoring on the first unit. Chandler and Ricky would make us one of the best defensive teams in the league while still having Love and Martin scoring in bunches.

Bigs like Chandler can play for a long time because he is tall, long and athletic and he is still only 30. You guys talk like he's 40. You way overvalue Pek on the defensive end because he does nothing that makes us a better team on the defensive end. He can guard his man, but he doesn't help make anyone else better. Saying Pek could be a top 5 center is ridiculous and shows how much you overvalue him. Pek and Chandler are 11 and 14 respectively in value added and wins added and those stats don't include the defensive end at all. Make a better argument for Pek than he scores more and is younger because Chandler has a Garnett like effect on the defensive end while scoring more efficiently and rebounding better than Pek. This game is about defense and Chandler is world's better defensively than Pek because he makes bad defensive teams respectable just by putting him in the lineup. Pek dropped 16 and 8 as the primary offensive option. What do you think he is going to do now that we get our leading scorer back and add a perimeter guy who scores in bunches as well? The pick and roll will be run more through Love now and Pek touches are going to decrease, so the only way he puts up the same stats is to get more efficient which Chandler is already better at.

Longstrange - I agree with you completely! Maybe some folks on this board didn't watch Chandler play much last season. He's not nearly as good as Pek.

But Pek is injury prone! Oh wait they played in almost the exact same games last year (chandler). Pek is a clearly better player then Chandler let's not be silly

yeah, Minnesota destroys Portland at everything... except the W-L column, and they've been doing that routinely.

Yeesh. And the Blazers have been drowning in their accolades haven't they? All these playoff berths they've been racking up... Oh wait... They finished with only two more wins than Minnesota did last year (only two wins better in 2011 as well) and we were absolutely destroyed by injuries. Yep, they definitely have the better situation.

Keep in mind that Portland went into major tank mode last season. I thought they lost like 12 in a row, or something ridiculous like that.
