This trade stinks of severe desperation by the Cavs......I love it. Smart move by OKC, regardless if Waiters works out.

Reports surfacing now that the Cavs are about to acquire Mosgov. The hold up in that trade was likely a first round pick. Well, they got one.

Crazy to think that they basically got Shumpert, Smith and Mosgov from Waiters and scraps. That's really nice.

This is how making good draft picks can pay you twice! First, Denver makes an incredibly great pick in Jusuf Nurkic, who is Mozgov's backup, but has been playing incredibly well off the bench for them. Go check out his per 36 numbers. And he's only 20! Similar to Gobert, I'd take him over Dieng every day of the week, and I like Dieng. That's three non-lottery Centers that are solid and could be on their way to great. The reason I like Gobert and Nurkic a lot more than Dieng is because of their age and size.

And because of Nurkic's emergence and Denver's re-tooling, they can now afford to trade Mozgov - whose ceiling is fairly well established at this point - for future picks.

So Denver was able to take the 16th pick in last year's draft and turn it into what appears to be a legit starting NBA Center + 2 first rounders.

Denver just pulled highway robbery on the Cavs. Mosgov isn't worth one first round pick and the Nuggets got two!? If Mosgov is going to be the Cavs starting Center and Shump or JR their starting guard I put their chances to make it to the EASTERN finals at less than 10%

If the Cavs are banking on getting free agents to take less money to come play in Clevland with an aging Lebron and diva like Kevin Love than god bless em because they are making the same mistake Miami did with a worse locale and a less dominate big 3.

Getting mozgov is a deal the cavs needed. 2 first round picks is too much but they badly needed a center and mozgov is 7'1 and is a serviceable one.

Are they desperate? yes they are. But take into consideration lebron is 30 and seems to be slowly losing a step. Love is an impending free agent whom they traded wiggins for. They currently have a weak bench and an imbalance lineup. They needed to make these moves to hopefully have a stronger 2nd half. I dont see them winning the east with varejao out. But if they could keep the same lineup and add a few pieces next season, then they are going to be a contender.

With a healthy lineup. The big 3 are lebron/kyrie/love. The bigs are mozgof/varejao/tristan. Shumpert is the starter that is the designated defensive stopper. Marion is the vet and do it all forward. Delladova can be the backup point. Joe harris looks like he could be a rotation guy as a 3pt specialist and jr smith is the spark plug/wildcard. Thats a better and more balance team than what they started the season with.

I see blatt getting fired after the season and a better and more experience coach takes the helm.
