Ughh, most of our young players won't make an impact this year, with the likely exception of Wiggins. LaVine, Bennett and Shabazz are in the same camp. Youth and talent generates excitement. We are obsessive fans that's why we post here and so we've covered LaVine, Bennett, Wiggins, why not GR3? Obsession is ok.

I like your excitement, enthusiasm, and even obsession. But two things - the "ughh" is not necessary, and 39 teams passed on this guy. He is what he is, a 2nd round draft pick who has a long way to go before making a roster, much less making an impact. Comparing his situation to Wiggins and Lavine is short sighted.

I didn't know there were 39 NBA teams. :) As a Wolf fan, we should know that draft position doesn't mean a lot. There are second round stars like Marc Gasol, Ginobili, Montae Ellis and many early picks bust. Had GR3 come out last year he was considered a likely lottery pick. I just think he was an enormous steal and can have lottery pick value. I wouldn't compare him to Wiggins as Wiggins is a much more polished proven player with even better athleticism. But he certainly deserves a roster spot.

1.) Aren't we obsessed over everything associated with the Wolves? From the 15-man current roster, to its future, to past failures, draft picks and coaches, etc.

2.) I don't believe there's been too much talk about Robinson. He's an off-season acquisition. He's one of six this year. The other five being Wiggins, LaVine, Young, Bennett and Williams. This board has discussed all of them in full. Why should Robinson not be discussed?

3.) Why are we talking "so much" about a guy who isn't going to make an impact this year, and maybe never? Well, why do we talk about Wiggins, LaVine and Bennett? Because they, along with Robinson, are prospects for this franchise. None of them are a lock to make an impact this year; maybe they don't make an impact ever. The thing is, though, all of them have potential and they are all young, unproven players. They are all worth discussing.

4.) I think maybe some are annoyed at how much discussion took place in the Love trade thread, where some posters had Robinson being a throw-in for some reason, and some posters refuted that it would NOT happen (oh look, it didn't happen). The Wolves weren't in a position to throw away a young asset, especially one that our POBO valued as a first rounder. I'm trying to guage where the "too much" Robinson talk is coming from because, honestly, there wasn't as much talk until this current thread was made.

So someone posts a thread asking why the obsession about GR3 and people chime in about him and then I guess that adds to the support we are obsessed? What about the obsession of the obsession of GR3? Lol

GR3 and. 2nd round picks or even late firsts are where you can find hidden gems. Maybe you get a really good player like Manu or Chandler Parsons or Michael Redd or Stephenson or Ellis or Gasol. Maybe you get a solid rotation player like a Blair or Bud or Chalmers or Ramon Sessions or Isaiah Thomas. There is a pretty good list of 2nd round picks that became pretty useful over the years. I'm not saying not to be skeptical but I don't see why we can't get excited about a young guy like GR3. I remember how pissed people were that we didn't get DeJuan Blair when he dropped a few years ago. I remembering really wanting to take a shot at Lance Stephenson in that draft. I remember liking Danny Green a lot. Sure I'm cherry picking some guys I liked that at this point are nice players now but its just an example of guys that I've liked that turned out well. I liked Cole Aldrich and he hasn't done much of anything so far. Lol

Obsessing over the 15th guy is something I consider "small market". It happens a lot here in Portland. The Blazers summer league games are often the lead story in the sports page. As Minnesota sports fans we are blessed to have a lot more going on than a lot of other markets. The big markets with high expectations don't obsess over the last guy on the roster. I choose not to either. That time is better spent worrying about who the Vikings middle linebacker will be.

Once he becomes something other than our last guy and becomes a real threat for playing time, I will get excited as hell about him. Until then I'd rather talk about Dieng and anybody else who is actually in our rotation.

I hope you never once posted about Shabazz Muhammad or Gorgui Dieng last year then. Back when they were struggling for minutes. If they aren't a rotation player then they are not worthy of CoolBreeze's words. They are just pons who never amount to anything and should be completely ignored... I'm mocking your post, but in all seriousness, nobody said Robinson was a star/stud. We (Robinson supporters) are excited that we have a 2nd round pick with potential to completely outplay where he was selected and possibly turn into a nice starer, bench piece or trade asset. Regardless, I see zero reason why Robinson shouldn't be discussed as much as the other young prospects currently on the team.

Why do you keep referring to GR3 as the 15th guy? He's not on our roster yet and when he gets on our roster, our roster is not slotted in any order. I certainly like him over other guys on our roster, but please no need to keep referring to him as 15th guy.

I think we should find a way to sign him and get him to the D league. I just don't see any potential playing time for him unless we are going full rebuild.
