Is this a satirical or facetious post?

1) Lockouts seem to be the first step in negotiating CBAs. Neither side even gets serious until the lockout begins.
2) The owners whipped the players badly last time with some dubious/shady/questionable accounting practices. Yet, the players took the heat by a significant share of the public... even posters on basketball forums who should know that it wasn't that cut and dried.
3) The players know all this and are already hinting at "getting even."
4) The owners will make more money. The players will make more money. The fans will get screwed. AGAIN. Yet again, we'll sit on the edge of our collective seats waiting for these people to share up hundreds of millions and even billions of dollars... while they purposely take the game of basketball away from the people who should come first ... the fans.

And yet, we'll be bickering, taking sides... even though we're too big of rubes to realize we're the actual losers in all of it.

The players problem is that what they want is always stuff for the best players. Already rumors of the union wanting to get rid of max deals. Great for Lebron, bad for poor Ronnie. So usually the bad players end up wanting to get things over with and the owners win. Having Chris Paul as the players rep is such a dumb idea. It should be a guy like Robbie who can speak for the little guy so to speak.

Oh fuck that. The players fleeced the owners the CBA before. They call all fuck off as far as I'm concerned. Bunch of overpaid assholes (players & owners). This TV deal is irritating b/c it's going to keep driving up costs for fans. And yes it IS a damn game. That's what sports are... a GAME.

I want to see the owners give a concession on the max contract, but only on the 1 designated player. I think all contracts should be up to 5 years while the player designation should give that 1 player up to an extra 10-15% of the cap space. IE: (rough idea) max contracts of say 25-30% for all players, but 1 guy makes like 40-45% or something like that. If the player is traded they lose that designation unless the acquiring team has that designation available to give them. Maybe this would finally get us away from having "big 3s".

I would love to see the owners give the players a bigger share of the money and in return the players contracts are not guaranteed. (NFL style)

When you as a guy , spark off some racist shit, and ran your business like shit for decades, somehow end up with a 2 billion dollar buyout, in no way were you ever fleeced.

blah blah blah NBA is just a game. They don't matter like a doctor does. Well I bet I could start today being a doctor and be better at it, then you if you at basketball if you joined NBA today

I'm cringing already at all the player movement that's going to happen in the NBA. Unlike football where the shorter careers/significant injuries encourage a gladiator type spectacle... the NBA I dig is built on signature players and styles and continuity.

I grew up watching the Lakers and Celtics and Pistons and Jazz and Bulls battle it out as collective teams, improving, passing the torch... all that.

An NBA with players bouncing all over is less appealing to me. Then again, I'm not really into TMZ and all that nonsense.

Well it would be nice if it could be the NFL or even the MLB and anybody can win it everytime, instead of like 8 teams ever, and the Lakers being in it 50% of the time. In it's current construct, we'll never see a Wolves championship in our lifetime

Don't see how more player movement, revised lotteries and non-guaranteed contracts would help the Wolves chances any.

The best bet is for the Wolves to get super lucky with multiple franchise guys in the draft.

And even that's been taken away a bit with the one franchise contract nonsense.

I want to see the max removed for any player you draft or sign/trade for pre-bird/early bird rights, basically just for RFA level players. If the NBA was really concerned about parity and wanting franchises to have the ability to keep their guys this would be the way to do it. This is the only way that the small franchises could really compete.
