I'm all for Shabazz starting and Brewer off the bench where he belongs.

Well, if that happens it means Shabazz made some massive strides during the offseason. He was certainly not ready to start for us last year.
He's one of the more unique wings I've ever seen. He can't dribble, can't hit a pull-up jumper, can't go right, and can't pass. On the other hand, he has a pretty reliable go-to move with that lefty push shot, is relentless on the offensive glass, and is physical enough to get to the line at a decent rate. If he learns how to defend and hit catch-and-shoot jumpers, we might have something.

I think it makes him a nightmare matchup. Must wings can't defend him. As long as he can guard them and be able to hit the 3 he will be a good player.

Eh, that might be a little exaggerated. While he had success against Phoenix's PJ Tucker (that's one game mind you), a lot of his other flashes of potential came in garbage time or against second units, which tend to be smaller players. Most starting SFs can probably deal with him pretty effectively by overplaying to his left and forcing him right. They also tend to be bigger and stronger on average than their backups. That's why I think he's probably best suited as a bench scorer. But the real key for him is the defense and hitting the 3. That would make him well rounded enough to play significant minutes.

Note: This isn't even summer league. It was a scrimmage. Nothing that happened means absoultly nothing. zip, zero nada. Even if Bazz scored a 100 or Lavine did a 1080 dunk.
Think people are just happy to see something potentially franchise-changing to root for. There's no denying LaVine's potential, and that in itself is enough to get me excited.
I'm almost positive people said the same thing about Derrick Williams, about Jonny Flynn, Wes Johnson. They all looked good in summer league. Oozing with potential they were
I didn't say the same thing about Wes, Flynn or Derrick. And I actually liked all three coming out of college. I not only saw all three in Summer League. I also saw them live in pre-draft workouts. None of them came close to showing the combination of athleticism, skills and instincts I saw from LaVine last night.
It was a scrimmage!!!!!! It's probably the worst way to evaluate a player outside of playing as him in a video game
