Pek's lack of PnR defense is also a major factor. With Love possibly leaving, I would guess that Pek's situation may not be as pressing. Gordon when healthy gives us a guy that can create his own shot, and that is something that has been missing on this team for a long time, and you are moving two other contracts to make room for him.

Reasons I want Pek gone in order of priority
1. His long, over paid contract
2. Awful fit next to Love
3. Taking up Gorgui's mins
4. Injury problems

hmm How would that 3 way trade look though? Gordon & Thompson?

I'd only want to ship Pek out to get a big time wing and b/c Pek doesn't fit with Love. If Love isn't here then it really depends.

Since this is the far fetched trade idea thread, im swinging with one..

Deal 1. Love,martin, 2nd round/euro stash to golden state for klay/lee/barnes & 2015 1st.

Deal 2. Then we ship klay/lee to bucks for greek freak/ ersan/mayo

With the kidd hiring and parker being ideally a sf. Bucks might take klay for the greek freak. parker/klay would be a solid wing combo with knight at pg and lee and sanders at the froncourt, bucks might be able to compete for a playoff spot.

Why we do it? klay will be a restricted free agent after next season, he seems to not want to be here and will demand near max money. The greek freak has all the potential to be a star down the road. Rubio with the giannins and lavine at the wings? il take that.

Deal 3. We do the rumored deal for gordon but sub mayo in for martin.

mayo/bud for gordon. All 3 players expire after 2 years. add depth and shooting for pelicans and we trim our wing otations.

Deal 4. 3 team trade.

Pek/barnes to blazers
batum/jj to pistons
monroe(sign and trade)/freeland to wolves

Lineup for wolves

Giannis /Brewer / GR3
Monroe/ Ersan /mbam
Dieng / Turiaf / Freeland
Rubio / Shved /fa signing
Gordon /Bazz / Lavine

Basicaly we trade Love/pek/martin/jj/bud for monroe/giannis/gordon/ersan/freeland/ 2015 gs 1st round.

Its far fetched but its something I would be happy with. Build around Rubio/giannis/monroe core. Should be fun to watch.

It has a lot of transacations but its a 5 for 5 trade at the end.

World, I think you worked too hard on that and screwed yourself out of a good SG for an unproven Giannis. Would have just kept Thompson and started him at SF.

Cam, I just dont like klay or parsons as much asnothers i guess. I prefer to gamble on giannis than overpaying klay or parsons. Just a preference of mine and il rather have monroe over pek and gordon over lee.

Not really far-fetched, but I think it deserves to be posted here. I'm very much so warming up to a Love trade with Houston, but only after Melo and LeBron have signed elsewhere.

MIN: Parsons (S/T, $10M-$12M per), Jones, 2015 Pelicans 1st, 2016 Rockets 1st and Capela's draft rights.

HOU: Love, Brewer

Ideally, we'd also still go for a trade with New Orleans to acquire Eric Gordon.

MIN: Gordon

NO: Martin, Budinger

We'd still need a backup PF and SG, which can be filled via free agency. Two of the more attractive options that should be cheap are Jodie Meeks (2 yr, $6M) and DeJaun Blair (2 yr, $3M). An upgrade at backup PG is needed, in my opinion, but if Flip's unable to trade Barea, I could see him keeping him through his last year as others have said.

PG: Rubio/Barea/Shved
SG: Gordon/Meeks/LaVine
SF: Parsons/Robinson/Muhammad
PF: Jones/Blair
C: Pekovic/Dieng/Turiaf

Bolded = Players who would be in the rotation.

Leftover assets following these two trades: 2015 NO 1st, 2016 HOU 1st, Capela's draft rights (Euro stash).

After the Rockets trade, I'd look to do Pek Mbah for Waiters Bennett and Varejao (Future first?)
Clears cap space for Cleveland to sign some free agents and we can get rid of Varejao and Bennett next year if Bennett doesn't improve
Rubio Lavine
Gordon Waiters Lavine
Parsons Bazz Robinson
Bennett Vet
Dieng Varejao Turiaf
In the summer of 2016 even if we gave Rubio Waiters Parsons around 30 million, we'd have about 30 million in cap space

Three-way with Love going to New York, Carmelo to Houston and Parsons/Jones/Hardaway/1st to Minnesota? Work out the fillers.
