Cam,
Ive thought about adding jj or even luc in the deal with the jazz but they might not want to take additional salary as they are commiting 17m to pek+bud as well.

I would play martin off the bench though. i feel thats the best role for martin if he is playing for a winning and playoff team.

Of course, all this depends on if the jazz has a shot at parker/wiggins.

That's true, but they're getting Richard Jefferson, Biedrins, M.Williams and potentially B.Rush's contracts off the cap. They're going to have plenty of space. I think we'd also have a little bit of leverage in the deal, to be honest. Pekovic is the best player in the trade. Make them take Barea. It just so happens that Barea would fill a hole for them too.

*I would rather trade them Barea instead of Prince Luc. I think Luc could show his real value in the playoffs when you need to limit/stop the opposing player's best scorer down the fourth quarter stretch.

Fair enough cam. the jazz might just be willing to take on jj.

I like to add that i would look at devin harris if we are looking for a backup pg. The guy is doing well in a backup role for the mavs and i feel he can still contribute positvely to a team and he has good size. Would be a good vet to have on the team and a mentor to rubio.

Pek and Martin for Waiters and Deng?
Rubio MLE
Waiters Stauskas or other Rookie
Deng Brewer/Bazz
Love Vet Min
Dieng Turiaf

Might have to take on Jack's ugly contract, but then we could use MLE on back up PF

Pek and Shved for Mayo, Henson, Wolters and Delfino

With that said if we could Mayo for Shved and Barea (two expiring) we need to look into that, I think mayo should be one of our realistic trade targets this year

Why would the Jazz want Pek?
Why would the Bucks want Pek?

Both have money tied up in promising centers.

Wait, Pek and trash for Kanter and Hayward? I am trying to get a handle on what planet this is even a remotely decent deal for Utah. Based on the commentary on this board, I am guessing most would consider Hayward to be at least the equivalent of Pek, with many probably thinking Hayward is the better overall player. For the sake of this exercise, let's assume they are even. Then, Utah gets the pleasure of dealing an "inconsistent" guy in Kanter to seal this tremendous deal. Let's keep in mind that Kanter averaged 13 and 9.3 after the AS break. While he may be a bit inconsistent, HE IS 21 YEARS OLD. Pek is 28. They both have similar games.....offensive focused with the ability to rebound. Sounds pretty familiar, right? The question you would need to ask is if Utah would even do a straight up trade of Kanter for Pek. I would guess the answer is close to 100% from Utah that they in no way, shape or form accept this deal. Why? Kanter and Pek are already very similar from a skill level standpoint. Then add in the age thing...and the injury thing.....and the money thing....and you have the much better VALUE player already in Utah. Kanter AND Hayward? Crazy......

still haven't seen a realistic trade on this thread. Even a sign and trade for Deng. He's a UFA, why would he do a sign and trade?

Hayward's the better overall player for the Timberwolves now that Dieng looks like the real deal at center. Pekovic has been the better NBA player for the last two seasons, though, thus actually has more value in this trade. Utah also might not want to re-sign Hayward to the contract he's asking for. Remember pre-season they were trying to secure an extension but were unable to do so.

Even if you don't believe Kanter should be in the trade, Pek for Hayward is still a win for both teams. Kanter would be something Flip asked for in the trade, but if unable to acquire him as well it's not a trade-breaker. Pek/Barea for Hayward still works for me.
